  1. you are allowed to have electric fencing around your house but no anti hijack on your bike!? i think not... you should include Warning stickers on with the Anti-hijack units to go on the frame. that way perps are informed! and you have less responsibility....
  2. have to agree here... if you get it going approach the bike insurance agencies with the idea they could then endorse it for you and by doing so offer a lower premium to insure if you have your device fitted (same as motor insurance - the "safer" your car is, the lower your premium) I say if you have the resources, have a bash at it you never know how well received it will be until its out there on the market!
  3. LOL! its a teeny tandem! missing the front seat and chain tho!
  4. http://www.cycletour.co.za/seeding.aspx it also depends on how well you do in these events its not a matter of part-taking or completing, but there is a cut-off time for your time to be considered for seeding in the Argus

  12. Exceeding the speed limit by: 11 km/h to 15 km/h R 250 0 16 km/h to 20 km/h R 500 1 21 km/h to 25 km/h R 750 2 26 km/h to 30 km/h R 1 000 3 31 km/h to 35 km/h R 1 250 4 36 km/h to 40 km/h R 1 500 5 Above 40 km/h Court 6 I dont think have scrapped it as the fines all start at "exceeding speed limit by 11km/h"
  13. there are some real beauts on the lis Driver not licensed R 1 250 4pnts - so where to what do they record your points? your ID? Disobeying stop sign or robot with non-RWC vehicle R 500 1pnt - cool so im going 2km/h over the speed limit, but i jump a red robot and sideswipe a car, R500 1 pnt no worries Accelerating while being overtaken R 1 000 3pnts - one of my favourite pastimes! On road less than 5,5 metres wide R 250 0pnts - you guys carry a tape measure in your cubby? Pedestrian moving into path of vehicle suddenly at crossing R 100 0pnts - will they live to tell the tale...
  14. thanks- thats not too critical for me seems like a cs100 will suit me fine for now
  15. according to the polar website they do under "full features" compare "basic features" and "cycling features" http://www.polar.fi/en/products/cycling/CS100/
  16. still... can anyone explain the difference in the price to me when they all have the same features. and more so for what I want it for - road cycling, will a CS100 do the job? bear in mind i would want all the features i mentioned above
  17. The unit is ONLY for road cycling purposes, so will not need a foot pod (and dont plan on running anytime soon/ever) In my current training regime I dont have need for GPS enabled device, but can understand how you can become attached to it once you have it. Its not critical that i do
  18. are there no other ways of downloading the information?
  19. I am in the market to get me a Polar HRM and have been reading up on the Polar website about the different models. Tho I cant seem to grasp any major difference between some of the models. The CS100, 100b, 200 and 200CAD all seem to have the same features: Basic timing features - time, dist, etc Cadence Sensor - optional wireless Heart Rate Monitor compatibility (except that the 100b does not have calorie consumption) Then the CS400 has all the same again plus the incline/altitude measurement and "Distance Based" measurements So why the differences in price? Do the higher models ship with more of the sensors? My requirements are the Basic timing features - time, dist, etc; Cadence and a HRM - will a CS 100 suffice?
  20. can we get a pic of the product so we know what we are looking out for?
  21. starting to get the picture thanks Grayskull2009-06-25 08:27:12
  22. Obviously the two disciplines are very different, so structurally bikes are made to suite the needs of each terrain. But why are ALL the components so different as well? Even some of the basic components that dont strike me as critical to be changed, are different ie. peddles/cleats and saddles So can anyone please explain the differences of these components between Road and Mountain bikes: Peddles & Cleats Saddles Brakes - Disk vs. V-brakes Gearing - Deore vs. Sora/105/.etc... Thanks
  23. thats one insane adventure why was the wheel taken off tho and the skewer!?
