  1. I got some Hayes Nine brakes from a fellow Hubber but they are shot so put them up for sale again. Do you have any brakes that you are willing to let go? I might need pedals too! Did any of the parts I dropped off help?
  2. Here the complete SS build with the Plasti Dip coating.
  3. I had an issue with uploading some info with my Bryton and spoke to Jason over email. He sorted out the issue within minutes of my email form that was sent off their site. I would say thats pretty good service! With regards to your parcel not being delivered on time.... the strike is to blame here, I have had to find alternative methods of delivery due to the strike and it can make our attitudes a little cr@ppy.
  4. Does anyone still get the mobile version when on their phone? Mine goes ti the full site all of sardine
  5. Motorists are not born that way...they become like that because of cyclists that take up the entire lane. I saw two tjops on the weekend that were so busy chatting that I nearly hit them because they were swerving to look at each other. They were on the shoulder of the N14 highway of all places!
  6. For those of you interested... I have been bitten by the singlespeed bug and have decided to restore an old retired MTB frame to a new steed. The old frame in question is a Marin Bobcat trail 2005 - gun metal grey with a few scratches and dings. I have bought a product called Plasti Dip to coat the frame with a new matt black coat in order to revive the frame a bit. This stuff is awesome! It has such a great finish and you don't need to be a panelbeater to spray it evenly. I couldn't find it at Builders Warehouse so got it directly from the South African agents, what a pleasure. Below, see the pictures of the frame before and after the Plasti Dip Let me know what you think More pics to follow
  7. The build has started! I have been a bit reluctant to get going since I have heard that this is addictive. I will put some pics up once the rest of the parts arrive. Thanks for all the help
  8. Thanks! I still need to get a cheap fork and some brakes so if you know of any let me know! I am in JHB but haven't even started with the build yet, although I might take you up on the offer
  9. If I buy this, will I be able to use my current crank? Which chainring should I use?
  10. What is the cheapest way to go single speed if already have a normal drivetrain?
  11. I need some advice... I have an old Marin MTB frame and would like to turn this into a singlespeed. What are the steps that I need to take? I have an old Truvative crank as well as all the other part except brakes and fork. Will the crank work and how do I go about converting it to a single chainring? Sorry about the noob questions but I have no clue where to start. Does anyone have a cheap fork up for sale? Thanks
