I live about 60 odd kms away from S/West in Brackenfell and my car was covered in ash this morning The smoke was so thick this morning you couldn't even see the sun This is really bad

The funny thing is (if you can call it funny) is that they don't realise that you are kinda attached to your bike and don't come off it so easily.... Had the same experience once where a guy was hanging on to my shirt and while I'm still going forward, still on the bike....only thing that happend was a torn shirt (and a stollen cell phone)

The attitude of all road users must change first and foremost.....!! Motorists are of the opinion that the road belong to them and them ONLY...and cyclists, especially this time of year, is merely a nuisance on the roads. As drivers we never learnt the responsibility to SHARE the road and until such time....nothing will change.

sure....I hope they are on the Hub as well.... the one had a Discovery kit on, the other one a very old Union Cycles kit on yellow and black (from really way back) and the other one just a plain yellow shirt....

I'm just going to mini hijack this thread and by no means mean any disrespect to Colin, but I saw something yesterday coming down The Glen in Camps Bay that left me ice cold.... Three riders, (and I can identity their kit if I have to) were playing "chicken" with the traffic going down there....zig zagging over the road from one side to the other....right in front of a loaded on-coming tourist bus.....not to mention the bus coming from behind narrowly missing the one oke.....I'm still numb by that stupidity from cyclists....adult male cyclists....

My deepest symphaties to Colin's family and loved ones.... it breaks my heart that we have to write the same message now week in and week out on the Hub.....I hope that I don't have to do this again soon I just wish that there is a way or that we can find a way to stop this....I just don't know how. This morning when we told a women (and no she's no lady) that her road behaviour was completely wrong, we got a f....off and and middle finger.....so what do you do to change people's attitude towards cyclists? I wish I knew !!

My suggestion is to all the bike shops that have been hit over the last few weeks: look at the security footage from the last week of suspect looking clients that visited your shops and chatted too long and being too friendly to the sales people and showed a lot of interest in bikes and compare all the footage to identify faces. 10 to 1 you'll be able to spot the same ones. The equipment that got taken, any one can see its too specific your a random smash and grab.

aaag no man you not grumpy at all hell man that bunch was big had some near misses there was this guy on a MTB that kept looking around and thus loosing his line hell man just look what is infront of you and stop weaving the guys in that bunch were super twichy and braked and swerved for the smallest of things and when we caught the short route my bliksem it was scary ...... ha ha sounds like the dude I had a talk to going down Helz on his MTB all over the place at 75km/h I tuned him he must think about keeping a line....he tells me: but there are potholes....!!! I almost got off my bike to smack the living day lights out of him.....seriously !!
