  1. /whooooshhhh Think you're struggling with comprehension mate. The point is clearly that you need a proper fitting to determine correct frame size, because your overall length is not the determinant. The model/bike is irrelevant to the point.
  2. Camber Carbon Comp without dropper post can be had for R33k.
  3. Perhaps slowly read my last hashtag...
  4. ^that^
  5. I'm 1.82 - I walk into a shop and everyone says L. Had 2 different fittings done, both concluded XL. #justsaying #getafitting
  6. Bicycle, Tread, Ride - all on Zinio/iPad. I go through the same ritual every month...can't wait for the new editions...they arrive...I'm excited...I read...I'm somehow disappointed. Wash, rinse, repeat.
  7. Generally it is inseam, not height. Could be huge variances between different heights. Get yourself measured.
  8. Gave my bike in today to replace the stock Formula C1 brakes with XT. Tried hard, but just couldn't get myself to like the former after coming from XTs on previous bike. Constant play on rear brake lever even after having fixed, very noisy rotor, stopping power seemed less.
  9. What are you doing riding past Kayamandi on your own? Glad you're ok though.

    Baggies

I wear baggies. One, because they're cool...and two, because I prefer not to look like a sex offender. ..
  11. 2014 Camber Comp Carbon, first ride this morning:
  12. Maiden ride this morning:
  13. 20 Strava trophies, half of them PR. Muddy, wet downhill single tracks - absolutely killed it! In love.
  14. Received mine yesterday...going for my maiden run this morning.
  15. Congrats! I was all set for the Camber Expert...and fortunately had lunch with a couple clients (who are also experienced riders) and after a few wines they convinced me...that it is overkill for a new rider like me and I probably won't notice the difference. Rather go big two years from now and then enjoy extras like carbon wheels, dropper post, different shocks etc. Walked into my LBS and bought the Camber Comp Carbon. Almost took her home with me...but then did a quick sizing and I need XL...so on order, should be here on Tuesday. Enjoy your new ride, I sure as hell can't wait for mine. Thanks for your thread and thanks Hubbers for all the patient advice.
  16. Oi...First World problems... Fortunately I'm not really interested in the Epic. I am looking at the Rocky Mountain Element though, also a racing XC geometry, but apparently has great trail characteristics, less racy and more playful. Could be a nice all-rounder, like the Camber is.
  17. Just took the Camber for a first test ride...at a muddy Meerendal...and broke a number of Strava PRs. Can't argue that, better warn the bank manager of impending trouble.
  18. Have a demo Camber in my garage, taking it out tomorrow, weather permitting. I'm looking at the Expert, but no more stock available...so will have to build it up from frame. LBS only has the black satin carbon frame, not mad about it.
  19. LOL
  20. Lungs healed in 9 days???
  21. I started out with MTB beginning of the year, ride a very light HT. I was in two minds when I bought it, but for a number of reasons the HT won out over DS. This morning, for the first time ever, I rode a DS. I was itching for one, but now I'm sold. Significantly softer ride, bumpy single track negotiates much easier on the body, good traction on uneven, slippery climbs. I'll miss my HT...but convinced that DS is the long-term answer.
  22. Is it a local brand? Where does one find them?
  23. Txs guys, will check them out. Strange, none of those shops make mention of SC on their websites at all - licensing/dealer conditions or something?
