  1. This is a proper MTB race. Don’t let the distance fool you. I did this event in 2016 and already secured my entry for 2017. Taking the single track, entry fee and everything else into account; THIS IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS! I have to give a BIG thumps up for the organisers for creating this event and for their love of the sport!
  2. Great! When you get to Private club that would increased to R1 000pm. (If you have a family membership there is 2k per month up for grabs.) I think when the Health Returns becomes better knowledge in the cycling community- you can expect quite a few people changing.
  3. Very nice for 2017 you can earn Health Returns of UP to R1 000 per month if you have Momentum Health and Multiply (R2 000 pm for a family). It’s not going to be easy to get to the top level (the R1 000 pm), but the carrot is available!
  4. I got mine at buycycle: http://www.buycycle.co.za/en/components/mtb-en/shocks-spares/fox-shocks-en-2-3-4/fox-fork-oil-10wt.-green-950ml.html Edit: Sorry I now also realise the OP post is a long time ago
  5. My view regarding jogging and cycling; Well; Stuart Marais came 4th at the Knysna Rotary 80km MTB race in July this year. (James Reid won and were 5min faster than Stuart and Darren Lill were second- 3min 17 faster than Stuart) The MTB race were the Saturday. The following Tuesday Stuart won the Solomon Featherbed 14km trail run. For me this is enough proof that you can be competitive in both sports. I recently started jogging. Trail running is great. (Takes you places were you “can’t” go on a MTB). It does not affect my cycling. My cycling keeps improving- so no negative effect that I know of. Its true what the guy in the video explain- Because of your cardiovascular fitness obtained from cycling you can become a good jogger with very little training. (I am attempting sub 40min 10km with 2h20min jogging training per week for the last 4months on Sept 17th.) Just a quick note about jogging; Be careful when running back to back days and doing too much too soon. Running is after all a higher impact sport than cycling.
  6. Another crash today. Quintana out unfortunately.
  7. 14:15Quintana to the hospital Nairo Alexander QUINTANA (159) is being transferred to the hospital in order to take care of his injuries. 14:08Nairo Quintana Nairo Alexander QUINTANA (159) was involved in the crash and drops out the Vuelta !

  9. Correct- Well let’s hope it's not 1 900m for the 60km and 2 150 for the 75km. That’s a lot of ascending!! (Route profile on the website is the same as the 2013 profile- thus not updated)
  10. Agree- My GPS recorder about 1700 for the 75km last year.
  11. I am also interested in this one. Hope some sub 3hour hubbers (or there about) would list their FTP results or maybe more valuable- their Watts per kg results.
  12. I Agree- I bought my last 3 bikes from Kings and I have advised 4 of my friends to buy bikes from Kings as well. Cheapest in my region and great service!
  13. Same happened to me after only 8 months. But "luckily" I have a Fox and could get the crown and stanchion assembly replaced for 3.3k. Now I have learn how to service the bottom’s myself. Below some older post and a video. Reba Service https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/123189-fork-oil/page__hl__rock+shox+reba video
  14. Ja- the drop is very steep. Gives you a nice thrill!! Last year a girl went over her handlebars at that section. She were taken away in an ambulance.
  15. Yes- only the front brake.... Please teach me some of your skills.
  16. This is a great race! The route dried up perfectly and I had lots of fun on the 42km. A rock or something snapped my rear brake cable. I rode the last 18km with only a front brake. (It were very interesting/scary cycling with only a front brake.)
