  1. I've been keen for a tandem for a long time, they just pricey and to get one to fit is a problem, my wife rides a 14" and i ride a 20", haven't seen anything to fit us properly.
  2. You guys sticking up for the roadies should drive Hendrik Potgieter ever day, the Medscheme guys ride like Idiots, i have nearly hit them twice personally, the whole group jumped a red robot the one day and i had to swerve quite badly with my niece in the car, i wanted to pull over and kick their heads in. I have said if i see them riding like that again or endanger my life like that again i will wait for them with a few friends and give them a lesson that they deserve, oh yes, Malcolm Lange was in that group, i swore at him personally out my window. If cyclists respect the rules of the road, then there should be no problem for them other than taxi's!
  3. First day with the clip ons, i decided to try it inside my house, they were far too tight and couldnt get my feet out, i plowed into the tv cabinet, my girlfriend was laughing her arse off at me. The only other times i have fallen because of them is when they got jammed with mud or something, had to take my feet out my shoes and then kick the shoes off the pedals. I make sure my feet are clean before i clip in now.
  4. Anyone got apicture of this bike, im keen to get myself one. Also maybe some more details like weight and dimensions.
  5. Get a fork from Kiwi and JB services it. Got one had a problem and got sorted, the fork is brilliant now. Pushed it hard down the hills at Lionman and is 100%. More than i can say for my rockshox that i popped quite easily.
  6. That Carbon Dual is a beaut. Wouldn't mind one of those.
  7. Then that photo does them justice, the dudes flexed arm girth is 32cm's, not to be funny, but thats pretty thin. Which guy is the spec's from?
  8. But those guys(rowers) are like 5ft tall. Im 1.76 and 70-72kgs, and i feel a bit thin. For the original post, i lost weight and felt a big difference on climbs, then dropped about the same amount of weight on my bike and felt a bigger difference. I think the wheels made the difference although the non moving parts(fork, stem, bars, ect.) felt the same as losing body weight. Hope that helps.
  9. If you just need a star nut, i bought a new one from Eagle Canyon for R 35 2 weeks ago. They had a couple there.
  10. Whats the weight of your GT Willem, looks awesome.
  11. That is probably the nicest frame Worcester, and that is one huge water bottle you got there.
  12. Got something very similar. Very bright light but its more of a tight angled beam. It is also fairly heavy. I made a charger for it out of an old cellphone charger. You just need the center piece off the charger, looks like a key. The battery lasts ages and fits nicely into an alloy bottle cage.

    ROOKIE

Look around on the hub for a bit for a bike, you can pick up great deals on good bikes for a bit more than your budget like this. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=80945 Search through the classifieds and you might come up lucky. The best way to learn how to ride is to get a bike( rather get a decent one upfront as you will want to get a better bike within a couple months of riding) and ride, find a few guys and ride with them. You will pick up everything very quick.
  14. Thanks Dangle, got it. Can i buy a seal kit from a store, or what?
  15. Hi, Does anyone know where i can download a manual from. Cant seem to find one. Thanks.
  16. If i were him i would rather have that than headlines saying that i got beaten by a bunch of tired mountain bikers.
  17. This is going to be interesting. Wonder if Kevin and Burry are going to force the break and make them work for it.
  18. I came across a great deal and got XT Wheels for R 2k. I think the wheels are a better initial upgrade as the biggest advantage to weight loss is in the wheels as it makes a difference everywhere. I also believe your wheelset is not capable of being converted to tubeless and this is a big advantage over tubes. Just think of what you want to do and look for good deals.
  19. Depends on how much you want to spend. Just upgraded my bike a bit. Went for the wheelset first and made a huge difference, saved 700grams and got heavy tubless tires which i can save another 400grams on for my next set of tires, went to disks as well. Fork is the next thing to do and then all the components like crank and cassette.
  20. Just got myself a set, seem to be great wheels but have barely ridden them. Not sure if they lighter than your current wheelset, they are just under 1.7kg's.
  21. Nice looking bike!
  22. Its not always the motorists, as i rider i can comment on other guys. Today a group of pro's jumped a red robot and i nearly hit a few of them, had my mother and niece in the car or i would flooked them and told them how to act on the road. Its not the first time i have seen them riding like idiots.
  23. What about the ritchey pedals?
  24. Cajees Strubensvalley is the worst bike shop when it comes to keeping a customer, took my bike for its free service. After a full week of waiting i got it back with a cable replaced. They didn't do the timing of the gears or check any parts, had to have a few parts replaced at another shop which they didnt pick up on. I went into the shop and complained with the manager standing there and they basically said they dont care about their poor service. They will never see any business from me. Eagle Canyon cycles is further but i would rather go there and get good service.
  25. Common, someone with the frame give us some feedback.
