  1. I cant ride afternoons, but mornings i am open till just after 7.
  2. What pace you ride at ET. I can ride from Featherbrooke but just getting back on the bike from a long break. Also what time and distance.
  3. And here i thought the best lube was KY. Have to agree with the different lubes for different rides, but i think as long as your drive train is clean then you can use pretty much any lube and it will work. Wax works better for not getting your clothes and drive train black.
  4. He has a slightly higher hear rate on the 29", but over a shorter time span, which could be the difference. But put him on a tricycle and he will probably get a similar time.
  5. Thats not bad, do you know if Garmin SA uphold the warranty/guarantee.
  6. Sorry i edited my post i was talking about the Garmin bundle.
  7. Where can you get the Edge 500 Bundle for under R 2,400. Im buying one soon and the cheapest i can get it is just under R 2,800. Thanks.
  8. Why not just spend the extra R 300 for the Garmin 500. Im getting the 500 soon, cant wait.
  9. Dont upgrade your bike if you are saving towards something better. It is very costly to upgrade it. Rather keep the money and get the new bike quicker. I think any bike is good to start on, as long as you ride and enjoy it.
  10. I think ride what you think it worth it. I ride a RST First Platinum and it is awesome, i popped my RS and didnt want to spend R3.5k to replace it. I ride the RST harder and no problems with it at all. Also my wife's Suntour is great, no problems at all with it, had it in storage for a year took it out and it is in perfect working condition. I understand support may be a problem, but guys can service them and bring in parts, so i got no problems there.
  11. The SID is an awesome fork, but if you look at Kiwi's site you can get a first 1 platinum for under R3k. It is very light and smooth. Think his site is planet x bikes.co.za
  12. I would prefer not buying second hand.
  13. Cant seem to find that new anywhere, must be an older model. Any other suggestions or opinions out there?
  14. Hey guys, I am in the market for a HRM, i am looking for a full HRM/computer for my mtb with altitude readings and a general one for running as i use the gps on my phone for running. I have looked at the Sigma Rox and the Polar CS 500. My budget is R 2,500.00. Have you got any suggestions of other products or which of these two would best suite me. Thanks.
  15. Thanks, Need to look at getting myself something like that soon.
  16. How much is Pricey, been thinking of getting and IDT for my MTB for a while as i am just not getting the time to go out and ride. Would these also be good for a MTB as well?
  17. They would stand a chance, 2 of the best Stage racers and they have both won the Leadville in the past 2 years. That certainly qualifies them to give anyone a go in the Epic.
  18. It would be awesome if he did do the event to see how good a team like the Bulls are. Lance is no clown on a MTB, he killed the field in the Leadville 100miler in 2009, he should bring Levi with, the only man to go faster than lance in that race.
  19. Its pretty easy to spot most scammers on the phone, they generally dont try and negotiate the price down or try in any way to find out the condition. Those are the first 2 things i try do when im interested in something. I tried to sell my quad a few years back and was receiving about 10 calls a day from these crooks.
  20. Finishing the Lion Man, first big/long mtb race.
  21. Lighter wheels do help with acceleration and heavier wheels will help with maintaining a certain speed. That has been proven time and time again with many other vehicles as well as bicycles. There is no argument in my opinion, only ignorant people.
  22. You should be ok on the Breedtsnek ride still, its a dirt road that you ride. Enjoy, and its a good idea to get out EARLY! It gets flippin hot out there in December.
  23. Hahahahahahahahaha.
  24. Forgot Van Gaalens, thats lots of fun. Actually, i need to get out there these holidays.
  25. The roads aren't the greatest and the guys tend to fly down those roads, if you have a mtb you can train at Breedtsnek, very good training ride and it will be pretty close to where you are.
