  1. Anyone know who the Tune agents in SA are?
  2. Thanks Crow and Hairy,I'm running xx1 so need a pair that can be cut. Will chech out AC.
  3. Anyone in Cape Town stock ODI grips?
  4. By way, anyone know how the guy is that came short on one of the bridges landing with his face on the chicken wire.Happened in front of me on day 2 adventure and he was in a baaaad way.Last I heard he was having a MRI but that was a few days ago.
  5. There was a debate earlier to wash your own bike or not.The bike wash guys tend to pile the bikes on top of each other so I prefer to wash my own bike.
  6. And then take bike to lbs on Monday to have all bearings and pivots replaced because they blasted the hell out of everything.I prefer to wash my own bike, sorry. I remember a guy last year got his hand in front of one of those high pressure cleaners, pealed the skin off his finger like a surgical knife.Dangerouse things they are.
  7. Thinking about putting one on the front.I don't mind the rain, but must admit I don't feel like that 3 km walk up slick rock if it's raining.
  8. Don't think so.I thought it would be dry because we have had a stretch of nice weather here but still some very muddy patches around.Problem is Grabouw has it's own weather system.
  9. Rode there a week ago, muddy and its going to rain in the week. There will be lotsa mud for sure.
  10. Hope you packed your rain jacket.Even if we get lucky with no rain I'm pretty sure it's going to be wet and muddy.
  11. I also think this is just a case of honest mistake.I really think CSA should NOT go public until after a hearing. No matter what happens at the hearing, damage has been done and I don't see CSA saying sorry or making any other public statement.
  12. What I don't understand then is why would CSA make a report public of a failed drug test if a TUE exists? That is very damaging to a rider and they of all people are the FIRST to know about a TUE.Drugfreesport SA would also be aware that the TUE exists.I believe they must of applied for a retroactive or emergency TUE as is allowed.
  13. How far back do you declare?6 months?8 months? 2 years? Not that simple. As the testing is getting better, the window period for drugs is changing every day.Imagine testing positive for cortisone your GP put you on a year ago.
  14. No need for books or anything.I've said before, drugfreesport has a brilliant phone app where everything is listed and you just type in the medication and it tells you if you can use it or not.
  15. Rain would make walking up the slickrock 3km portage section nice.Give me 40 degrees any day.
  16. I'm pretty sure he won't have a TUE.If every time a GP prescibed that ,or flu medication to someone that was going to be doing a race in the near future, imagine the chaos if everyone then applied for a TUE.This is what might happen in future if he gets nailed.
  17. I agree 100% with V12,it's not uncommon for your GP to prescribe it and I really feel sorry for Craig as I do believe it's a mistake on his part. It's a tough one.You sit with a chest infection for 3 weeks that wont go away, the normal response from your GP will be antibiotics and perhaps steroid. So you can not take anything and sit with this for months or take it and not race till you think it has cleared from your system. The problem is that the testing is getting so good that a year ago they could pick up a steroid in your system that you took a couple of months ago,now they can pick it up in your system if you took it a year ago.I think that Drug free SA are doing it right with the little money they have. Why should the guy comming last be treated different to the winner. We are more than happy to enter races with international riders, top SA guys and UCI points on the line but then moan if we are subjected to the same rules as them.
  18. Looks like there might be rain for day 1.That will make the portage section interesting.
  19. Was in the shop the other day and put a size M rumor on the scale.15kg as it is out of the box.No bottle cages or tubeless conversion done.
  20. Sorry but I wouldn't go for the rumour.120mm is too much travel for your needs and Specialized went real cheap on the base model.Suntour fork, tektro brakes,x fusion rear shock,9 speed on a 20K bike. You can get a carbon fate for less than that ,which will be much better imo.The base rumor that i saw was between 13-14kg so you going to spend lots of money and upgrade the hell out of it to get it to a decent weight. If you want a duel just go with a small epic.It will be easier for resale later and I don't believe you need more than 100mm of travel for your needs. Just my 2C.
  21. Ooo nice Wayne.Did you bring it on yourself or get it from the local Santa Cruz guys?
  22. I've been in the same boat a while ago.Needed some chainrings, went online with CWC and saw they had them in stock.Drove there because it was urgent ,asked behind the counter for said chainrings.Salesman goes on computer and says no problem we got them in stock, let me get them, only to be told by another salesman, sorry don't have those chainrings.Havnt had for 2 weeks. Evobikes is all I can say.Second point, don't advertise anything at a Great price if its not in stock.Might as well as say " for free".
  23. What if pocpac is not in stock?
  24. Isn't Oliver also a pro?
  25. Been there Raymond, really enjoyed the racing etc.Just thought that at around R160 a race some posting of results would be in order. Maybe that's just me.
