They make 30 and 32 as well.Got minor about 2 weeks and very happy.

Might work in Europe where they don't have thorns but here in SA I'm not sure.Nothing said about running slime etc.I know from motorbike experience if you puncture the inner tube it's a biiiitch to sort out trail side.Dont see this working for mtb.

Got taken out from behind during a race a few years ago coming down Ou Kaaps(roller coaster nogal) at 72km/h.3 of us involved and we were just lucky no cars were coming up at the time or it would of been tickets.Wrecked entire bike Spez SL2 Sram red ,dura ace carbon wheels.Couldn't even use the skewers on the bike.Couple of broken ribs and lost skin from my ass to my elbow.Sleeping for the next few weeks was a nightmare.At that time bike probably cost around 50K.

The brokers here can tell you more but hospitals see hospital plan as a type of insurance.The big hospital groups and big medical aids have agreements to what they will charge and pay.Smallfry insurance company with hospital plan got no bargaining power like the big medical aids so going to get shafted a bit.If you did a bit of research into what costs per day in private hospitals are and procedures cost you will see how huge the shortfall is with hospital plans.

With a medical aid you have some bargaining power with the hospitals.Patients with hospital plans are seen as private patients by the hospitals and are charged accordingly.Sometimes 3x more than someone on medical aid.

I'm sorry to say but medical aid and a good medical aid is the most important investment you can make in SA.No I'm not a broker but am in the medical field.As with everything in life you get what you pay for.Too many people skimp on the cheapest medical aid,don't bother to read the fine print and then bitch when they coupe K out of pocket.It all became a realization to me earlier in the year when my 8 year old daughter needed a emergency op for a twisted ovary.Luckily I could choose the best hospital to go to( wasn't told where I can or can't go as in many cheap medical aids).As I'm in the medical field a quick few phonecalls was all it took to find out who was the best surgeon and everything was sorted.No medical aid telling me " sorry he's not on out preferred list etc"A bad fall on your bike needing extensive orthopedic work can cost you easily up to half million rand.Not a place to skimp IMO.

Sometimes price Fixing can be a Good thing.

Biggest misconception is that a thing called medical aid rate exists.

Not sure what he earns but very good source told me even Sauser's contract has changed from big pay at end of month to performance and results based.We still in a recession boys and we talking cycling,not golf,rugby soccer etc.As far as marketing,those were the first guys who got the bullit when the recesson hit.I take my hat off to those who do it for the love of the sport.Thats the only reason to sponser.Guys like Omnico and a few other have been quietly pouring money into the sport for decades.They are the real heros.

100% right FM That's why sponsors don't stick around in SA.There is also a poor attitude with a large part of local pro riders where all that is important is"what is my deal" never thinking "what is the sponsor getting out of this".As I pointed out before,take most of the big sponsors here in SA and 99% of the public won't know what they are about. This is just my 2C from been on both sides of the fence.

Yep and he's probably worth every penny at the moment as the #1 rider in the world(and I don't meen UCI ranked)but comparing his pay with our local guys is like comparing what Sebastian Vettel earns compared to a local club car racing here at Killarney.

Problem is most sponsors have been taken over by bean counters and all they look at is return of investment.I agree with your analogy with Sky.We can bring that closer to home.I for one go to a lot of races but sure don't know what RE:CM or Blend or a host of other sponsors do.

I think we just misunderstand.I was quoting what they get in bank acc at end of month excuding other perks as in cash eg say RE:CM as is post #34.

I too know many of the local pro's and if any of them are taking home 40-50K month then they are costing a sponsor over 1 Mil per athlete.They are right up there with some bigboy's in other sports and should count themseves verrrry lucky.I am of course talking local pro's and takehome post tax etc.

No ways any local riders taking home 40-50K.If I had to tell you what some former prof road racers were taking home at the end of the month(minus fines) you would **** in your pants.Lets just say they would have earned more if they were a waiter at the Spur.

You can't compare RE:CM with international riders ,and even Sauser & Kulhavey have contracts for 2014 that give them less salary at end of month and more performance based.That unfortunatelly is the way cycling has gone.Why do you think Rabon joined Spez?couldn't get a contract on the road for 2014 and there are loads like him looking for jobs.

Maybe international but definately not Local.Interrested where you get your info Spezfan?Bottom line is what do sponsors get out of it,very little in the end.Don't give me brand awareness etc mumbojumbo,Spez will sell same amount of bikes with or without Sauser and I dont see everyone running out to buy a Bull's mtb.If you take 1 rider that's given a 100K bike plus kit plus travel expenses and enties to all events plus 20K a month from a sponsor, before long you have a local atghlete that's cost you half a bar. Return from that investment?That's why so many sponsors don't last very long.Different story if you international rider but local?
