  1. For that amount of money you can get something very nice.I would look at the second hand market, you could probably get a second hand carbon bike with 105 for that price.Something in the Giant range perhaps.Look around at as many shops as you can, times are tough so many shops will give you a good deal especially as 09 stock Is starting to come in, ask for a deal on 08 or 07 stock. You might even get a new 06/07 or 08 carbon bike with 105 for about 12K
  2. Just got back from my ride on table mountain.Sorry pic was taken with my cell
  3. Was also worried when i saw how light and cheap they were but a year later and a Epic and Epic training on the bar and stem i have to say noooooo problems at all.Bar ends are a bit soft and won't survive a crash otherwise all there products are great.(except their lightweight clusters, they are crap)
  4. Tubbies on a mtb, wahahahahaha. What's the chances he'll finnish the race.Sacrificing reliability for weight is a no no
  5. New FSA cranks for BB30
  6. One question,is that a pivot on the rear chainstays i see on the FS bike?
  7. I have one but also keeping it for the ArgusYou can get a Middleburn 48T ring from Chainreactioncycles
  8. The bike you are riding NOW. The prices are going to go up so much no-one will be able to afford a bike in 2009
  9. I think i'll do this next year instead of the Epic, might even cost less.
  10. What are they selling for?
  11. Some of the Quickstep guys are riding Roval but those wheels are made by Campag and just have Roval stickers on them.
  12. Tried them out for a couple of weeks, thought they were crap.Give me the lightweight wheels any day.The wheels are heavy and at the worst possible place.Rotational weight can make a difference. If you used them only for timetrial, maybe, but for everything else they were a dog.Everytime there was a acceleration in the bunch i felt like i was pulling away in 3rd gear and they don't climb well either because of the weight.there are much better wheels at the price they are asking.
  13. I don't understand all this.It just sounds like one or two guys in the same age group and there fans that are unhappy about not been selected, now the whole selection process is supposed to be flawed.Don't hear any complaints about the wrong guys been selected in the 50 or 60 plus age group. How would you feel if you were SA champ and didn't get selected. You guys were not selected, should have done better at SA'S so stop winging.Get over it. There i've opened the can of worms.
  14. RICE R est I ce C ompression E levation
  15. No it's not. This one is and it will last longer off road, won trust and costs less.
  16. Don't waste your time going under 10kg for FS bike.Been there and in the end as you said you still want a bike that is ridable offroad and not one of these project bikes that the first piece of dirt or mud they see you are going to see your ass.
  17. Sorry Sylvia i think that is not punishment enough.I agree with hammertoe names should be put on the Hub every six months.Very few people go to the CSA website while the hub has over 4000 members WHO LOVE TO TALK. Name and shame.Been humiliated in public is far worse than a 6 months ban and name on CSA website.Common Carinus post the names here.Admin can make a special section.
  18. Starbike.com do specialities chainrings. You only need the one for the granny gear.Your crank has a 64/104 bcd.should look something like this.
  19. you can change your crank to a 2 by 9,i have ridden that way for years and it is the only way to go.Specialities TA make a 28 and 30 chainring that will fit on to the granny gear of a 64/104 bcd crank. You then fit your 44 onto the middle chainring the way most of the pros are doing nowdays.
  20. Remember Benno used to service Sausers pace once a week and he is not riding pace anymore.I went for the 2009 sid race.100g heavier than my pace with lockout
  21. Did you get your groupset off a mongoose because the HT comes speced with your entire groupset /
  22. and there is a agent in SA but not sure who it is.
  23. For bars and sems i would look at the kcnc stuff.they will be lighter and cheaper than what you are looking at,also your crank is not too light, about the same as XT only more expensive. What weight are you trying to get at?
