  1. The problem is not with your lbs. Most lbs will put a mark up of 30%(there are exceptions)which i think is fair. The problem lies with the suppliers especially the two big ones(JJ and Coolheat) As many have said,i can buy cheaper over the internet than my lbs can buy from the agents and if your lbs tries to get products cheaper via another route they will get a nasty visit from those guys or a lawyers letter. Every time my lbs orders from those guys they ask for a jar of vasaline so that it is not so painfull when they get f#&ckd with the price. And don't give me the backup story, they give you no backup.
  2. I was a young' date=' impressionable and innocent 16yr old lad at that festival....you boys scarred me for life [/quote']Glad to see some guys still mtbing from the old days.A lot of guys give up when they find the two D's stringbean2007-05-22 02:27:08
  3. AAAAHA the Sedgefield Fat tire festival. That brings back memories.Anyone one the hub remember that.Where is Craig Pritcher now?
  4. Why you not kicking ass at province champs this weekend?
  5. Are there different age groups:30-34,35-39 etc etc
  6. Have initial unlocking key and sign on details but he still can't get it to load.
  7. I don't think it is going to work unfortunately. The moment you go online to update cyclingpeaks will see that the program has been installed on another computer.this friend of mine was trying to do exactly that.Bought the ergomo second hand and was trying to update the software and now has lost everything. The best is to buy a new program from them and maybe try to get the person who sold you the ibike to give you something towards it.The newer version is always better anyway. From Jan 2007 they added performance manager to the program which is a huge help.
  8. They have a very good method against pirating. You can download onto a pc or if you have the disc from them you have to go online to their website to obtain a second key(password) or the program won't open.So there is no buying the program and copying it for your mates.A friend of mine was using the program with his ergomo when his computer crashed and the only answer from ergomo and cycling peaks was to buy another program. That sucks.
  9. Just make sure your computer never ever crashes. You can only load it once.Once it is on your computer you can't move it to another computer
  10. Great, can we have some subvet race reports again.Fatty can give a report from the front of the pack and Marius can give one from the back
  11. When using a Pace fork you have to cut off one leaver of the lockout if you are using gripshift or it won't work.Main changes for 2008 besides moving to 11k carbon are the intergrated cranks like they are using for their road bikes.Brilliant, works similar to the new campag crank.Super stiff and easy to work on.
  12. Can you say TREK

Don't waste your time with conversion kits, they are a waste of time.If you want tubeless by proper tubeless. My dt240's on mavic 819 with dt 1.8/1.5/1.8 spokes weigh 90g more than crossmax sl,cost me R1500 less and i would have saved even more if i did not DHL them to SA.The dt hubs are also way better than the mavics.CRC doesn't take long to get more stock in.The other choice is to go for a cheaper mavic wheel.Just make sure it is tubeless.
  14. If you puncture on the side of the road, with one someone can lend you a tube, with the other you walk home.
  15. Yes,just make sure they send you the isis bb.Phone Marco or speak to Bruce. They are the experts.
  16. Don't think so.I think dura ace will go the srm way when srm patency falls away. With ergomo you can use any square taper is isis crank (ergomo,FSA,old campag and best of all Zipp
  17. If i was forced to choose out of those 3 i would choose the giant. The resale of the scott is absolutely crap.Friend of mine took 6 months to sell his cr1 frame and only got 5k for it,i think he paid 14k at the time. The only problem with the giant is if you are ever going to travel the bike won't fit into a bikebox(reason many companies are not going intergrated seatpost route and why the guys in the pro peleton ride the normal scott frame and not the new intergrated seatpost one )

Get the Specialized stumpjumper fsr.The bike everyone copies.Even titus ,and the backup is better.
  19. No,you can only use shimano chain and clusters with sram.

Chainreactioncycles.Get them to build you a set of wheels.Got dt 240 hubs on mavic 819 rims(tubless)for under 6k.Have a couple of wheels by them, they know what they are doing.
  21. Brilliant stuff. After a 70km/h crash this year that left me with a snapped frame.bar, saddle ,wheels, helmet, the only thing that survived was the sram groupset.Looks like sh*t but shifts perfect. The road groupset is as strong and durable as the mtb sram and the road one is compatible with shimano chains and clusters.I run dura ace chain and ultegra clusters with mine and works like a dream.
  22. Bell and Specialized helmets fit the best.
