  2. Ag man vitriol comes with the territory I suppose and no comedian is immune to such criticism.
  3. This is satire. Yusuf Daniels is an author who published his first book some time last year I think it was. 'Living Coloured' is a collection of short comedic stories where he reflects on growing up as a coloured kid in Cape Town. Facebook was a huge part of his his growing exposure. He gained quite a substantial following, which he later used as a free platform to advertise small local business. He continues to retain relevance with his facebook posts. Almost all of which are just satire.
  4. I don't know how to sort frames in the classifieds by size?
  5. Its the devkit. For devs. Not the end user console. Its not unusual for these to leak first. It means a handful of game developers will start testing. And eventually get to working on a few titles to be released with the consoles launch.
  6. Very few titles these days actually support split screen. You'd be hard pressed to find a racer or shooter that isn't 10 years old with a few exceptions that are 5+ years old. The split screen days are pretty much over. Nintendo is probably the last bastion of hope when it comes to split screen games. While they still burn a candle for them. They are by no means Nintendo's focus point. That being said. There are many great couch couch co op games to choose from and neither console favors couch co op play better than the other. I love couch co ops/pvp games. The ones that don't need split screen is often far more fun anyways. Fifa, Street Fighter, Overcooked, Speed Runners, Lovers Spacetime and Rocket league to name a few are great games to enjoy at home with people who are actually in the same room.
  7. I bought it. I think the price is a bit steep for what it is but I also feel like I should be supporting local devs. It was fun with a friend for one night. A lekker throwback to old school, side scrolling fighting games. The local jargon and humor is a great touch for any saffa gamer. The artwork is fantastic and its pretty well thrown together too, effects, cut scenes etc. The game mechanics is pretty straight forward and you get the hang of it pretty quickly. I didn't notice any immediate bugs while playing and it actually played pretty well. I was disappointed that it had no ultra-wide support and the games repetitive nature in both play and humor ensured the novelty wore off pretty quick. This will make a great 2 player arcade game at local bars though and the devs should really look into that. I'd like to see a pvp game from them next. Coop is fun. But sometimes its way more fun to choose from a selection of characters and bliksem each other. It will have a much longer shelf life than the current title and its an opportunity to showcase a host of characters which truly reflect South Africa's rich cultural diversity.
  8. Look at the exclusives then decide. They both do the same thing really and share many, many of the same games. They both work well as media centres too. While most titles will release on both platforms. PS will have exclusives like God of War, Spiderman and The last of us. While Xbox is basically Forza, Halo and Gears of War. I chose to go xbox for a few reasons The controller is more ergonomically sensible to me and feels more comfortableI use my xbox as a media centre as much as I do for gaming. Microsoft has lots of apps I use for this to work between my console and all the other devices on my home lan. The seemless connectivity between Microsoft's platform sharing works well for me. The xbox can read my cloud and I use plex to stream movies from it. Game pass. This is Microsoft's version of a gaming subscription. What makes it different to the rest is its multi platform support. If a game is released on both Xbox and windows I have access to both. So I pay the R150 or so a month to play a list of say about 100 odd games. Some better than others. And the list changes everymonth. I can choose to play on the platform of my choice assuming the game supports it. I prefer playing racing games on console so that's where I play forza. But prefer shooters on a pc so that's where I play Wolfenstein. Pretty good value for one sub. And nobody does that except Microsoft.I'm not saying xbox is better. Its just better for me.

  10. So this game is called. Everything... Its hard to explain how to you play but the trailer does a decent job of explaining it somewhat. You play as any and every organism you wish. From tiny bacteria to entire galaxies. You decide what happens and witness the effects thereof. Its quite amazing actually. The trailer has also made history in that it was the first game trailer to ever be nominated for an Oscar. Now free on Epic and only a 1.3gb download. Enjoy. https://youtu.be/HdJk8ROpuEo
  11. This one squeezes in here quite nicely and has been on my radar for a while. The chameleon is one of Santa Cruz's oldest bikes. And two decades later, it still hasn't shifted from its roots. Which is simply. A bike that doesn't quite fit into any specific category. And can do a bit of pretty much everything. The geo is somewhat interesting to say the least. The front centre and head angle are conservative by modern trail standards. That and its 130mm fork hardly puts it in the AMHT category either. The overall geo lean more towards slope bike numbers but its not really that either. At least no slope bike I ever knew came with either 27+/29 wheels. The rear wheel has also been smoeshed right up into the seat tube along horizontal dropouts. (Sjoe!) The more I look at it. The more I realize how much thought actually went into making it. I'd love to own one and just try everything on it. https://youtu.be/aU7QITLNX9Y
  12. I love these frames with the integrated post clamp
  13. Dont forget that as part of Ubisoft's subscription launch. You get to play the first month free. I gotta say. Compared to the rest of the subs out there this is by far the best value for money. And all of us get to play free for September. https://youtu.be/uKW9473ERUg Also the Breakpoint beta just dropped too. Been waiting way too long for this one. https://youtu.be/6dl96_-ehbI
  14. I could never relate to any talk of bar flex. Never felt it and if I did I wouldn't know. But I had this bike once that had a stem with a bigger than usual clamp size over the bar. Still 31.8 but that clamp size I could definitely feel in the bikes handling. And I ain't the most receptive when it comes the differences between those kinds of bike subtleties.
  15. I think it can still be done tastefully. Levers, calipers and pedals purple? Ooh that's nice. Seatpost clamp, stem, chainring and grips also in purple. Ok...a bit much but still looks good I guess. Wait your riding top is purple too? GTFO
  16. I have nothing against badazzling. I'm certainly guilty of it. But I'm also guilty of poking fun at 'Enduro Barbies' By this I mean the type to go riding dressed like an expensive lego mannetjie. Matching brandsets and more colours than a box of smarties. I have a few branded riding tops, fox, royal, dakine, etc. But also a couple of china cheapies. Namely these two which I almost always opt for just because I'm vain enough to think that my choice is a reflection of creative self expression.
  17. I guess it depends on which brands we find appealing as consumers. Everyone has different tastes. But Hope? Talk about a crowd-pleaser. Not trying to bash them. I give credit to where its due. Hubs and brakes? That prototype enduro frame? Sold. But then I look at that bar. I can't help but wonder how much of its appeal lies in the logo. Is it a good piece of equipment? You better believe it. They know, that we know, that as a brand they're not gonna let us down any time soon. So if they slap their name on it. You best believe they're confident in it as a product. In lieu of just that. Talking purely aesthetics now. Have we as consumers come to translate that brand confidence as bike porn? Is it pretty just because its hope? Come to think of it. That's how I feel about Enve wheels. I mean sure. There's no debating the pedigree but if I'm honest. The primary reason I want them so badly is because of how beautifully they wrap their hoops in that logo.
  18. What is it about hope that everyone finds so appealing?

  20. You're nuts, the colour is dope!
  21. It'll be nice to ride between the trees again
  22. So sorry. Actually asked my mom to bake some. But last night I was running late and completely forgot to pop in. And my folks are literally footsteps away from my house. I'll bring some next time...
  23. Yeah I remember that too. I think it was announced at the agm was it 2 years ago? Longer? The new fee and rules regarding agm attendance was news to me. But then I haven't really made an effort to stay informed. I understand the decision. R300 is nothing all things considered. And with enough support it would go a long way to help achieving goals. But not everyone understands that. No matter how many times it's been explained. I also think that everyone who considers themselves a stakeholder should be able to voice themselves. Here or elsewhere for that matter. And why some people would interpret it as a sudden pricetag on being able to do so. Even when that was never the intention. To everyone who loves Tokai as much as I do. Not a single cent of our activity card or daily entrance fees goes to TokaiMTB. It does not help them in any way at all. It merely gains us entry to Tokai so that we may enjoy the activities there. (including mountain biking) Sanparks is not involved in the building or maintenance of any mountain bike trails. Now imagine the degree of frustration TokaiMTB faces attempting to overcome that. Not to mention the plethora of red tape that comes with it in the process. To everyone at TokaiMTB. Thank you. The magnitude of gratitude for everything you have endured and achieved to date really should go without saying. But it doesn't mean that those who raise concerns should be brushed off as unappreciative. They deserve to be heard. To Eddy. I hear you my bru. I share your frustration. To Pierre. I know you reading this. Don't think that all the blood and sweat you put into Tokai over the years goes unnoticed. I see you bra. To everyone else. Come join TokaiMTB. There's a bike in it for one of us. But more importantly. There's trails in it for everyone.
  24. How about some home made pie. Everyone likes pie right? I'll bring some pie...
