  1. according to my knowledge you okes donner anyone and everyone?!
  2. Bob you are seriously confused. That is Margate....... I'll be in Mosselbay from 14th till 3rd Jan. Anyone that would want to join in some early morning rides 3/4x per week?
  3. I agree 100% with what you are saying Spinnekop. As all things in life its all relative. 1000's of riders will be paying R 300 for their licences come 24th Dec. 100's will bitch about it next year, they will do the same why dont we all just boycot them and not buy a licence at all you know as well as I know, its much easier to talk the talk but getting people to do it is just short of impossible. so, that is why there is no point in bitching about it- its like the folks in the cradle, and many other bitching threads on the hub. Is your Electricity supply all of a sudden better now that Eskom will hike their prices -mine isn't, but I need the electricity , so I have limited options, pay or dont have it. Easy as that. You decide. CSA will probably never get their act together by the sounds of it, but they have us by the short and curly's so what are our options? You ride an expensive bike because you can/want, but do you complain about the R 150 to enter a race. Dont think so. I remember the okes saying they wont be riding 94.7 because its R 265. Guess what, unless I am seeing double or they have twins, I saw them at the race actually riding - but maybe they got a free entry or jumped the fence and rode unofficially.....
  4. sort of yes
  5. Aaaahhhh so happy you guys have found sometjing new to bitch and moan about!!! you dont have to buy the licence if you dont want to - if you need it buy it its R 300 for the year, what is the fuss about. seems some people just want to complain for the sake of complaining almost like women always want to have the last word in an argument
  6. How was LA involved in this? Dont want to read through everything
  7. That wasn't the day, it was this past weekend when while lying second in the Mellow Classic MTB race on saturday at his Rancho Pelota, he had to stop due to flats... Happens to the best of 'em
  8. certainly I am the King Of Downhills!!!!!!!!!
  9. and the moral of the story? 1. dont argue with truck drivers/cars/taxi's/anything that moves faster or is harder than a bike? 2. don't buy a Prince? 3. Don't put your bike down while arguing? 4. ? Will the insurance actually pay out? Hope he got some details of whoever the truck belongs too.
  10. If you read carefully, you will be able to answer yourself Idrive.
  11. so you still in fools paradise? that knock on the head must have been more serious than originally anticipated. have you had it checked out yet?
  12. Well done Tazman, happy for you
  13. 94.7 without doubt 94.7 - 44+ km's ascent Telkom - 24 km's ascent Suppose if you're a climber 94.7 wouldnt be your toughest. For me @ 95kg's - def is hardest I've done this year.
  14. fast enough? I see your inbox must be flooded with pm's?
  15. he he - jou ou grapgat!!
  16. nope can you eat that? no one tell you - I'm a pro bike rider probeer, probeer
  17. no rides there china, you gonna be on your own - as always
  18. I bought one in July Nice bike @ nice price Used it in 2 races and ridden it about 5 times thus far - so not an expert opinion by any means. (Road 1st, 2nd, 3rd, MTB 10th ) My experience is that the bike offers all I want/need at this stage. Its heavier than most out there, but its rigid, can take some hammering and goes fast enough for my liking. Obviously being a hardtail, technical sections are a big test. I managed a top 20 and top 45 finish in the races, so if you belive its about the bike - it can go some... good luck with the decision
  19. Still cramp after prolonged hard riding - usually at a pace not used to, or too familiar with. Always the same spot in the left hammy. Even using crampstop etc. After listening to Dr J last night, I now know why it doesnt work. Happened recently in Telkom @ 86km's, went away quick though, and I was fine up Hekpoort - unfortunately on my own, cause bunch dropped me when I tried to stretch and recover water works well, but find it must be very cold to really work. news year's resolution - start stretching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. so are you saying the Telkom 107 isnt a race then? I'd also be worried
  21. Just be careful of overtraining and not arriving at the race at your peak sir dont stop at all 3 weeks before reduce the ave weekly mileage and intensity to 75% of, 2 weeks before to 50% and race week to 25% or less. during race week, very gentle easy riding, maybe 2-3/4 1min intervals to get the HR up to race pace
  22. Done 2, '07, '08.
  23. my performance has just improved week after week. did you also train? couldbe that you know?!
