  1. Bwahahaha. Dont worry. First time i rode at Thaba it took me 2:35 to finish green. Felt likw i was going to die. 3 months later did a 1:10 on green missing 2 lowest gears because of deraillieur issues. Like they say it never gets easier you just get stronger. Any ride is a good ride Also first race ever I turned too early cut out 10km and ended up ahead od the leaders......felt like quitw a knob
  2. I agree with that sentiment. A headset isnt something i'd take chances on. Love my face too much!
  3. Looks very good. Like the concept, not gonna like the price. But bodes well for the future I think.
  4. Watching with baited breath as I might be moving that side. How about some opening specials?
  5. Yup, had some Johnny Walker Red and Black last night. Could taste and smell the difference for the first time.
  6. I'm on 5 months tomorrow. And yep, very thankfull I quit! Haha they do, and those silly excuses for not quitting. Like you say, just do it. The decision is the hardest part, never even one puff.
  7. You guys aren't helping. I'm trying to decide between an a Trance X2 650b and a Silverback Sprada 1......
  8. Please post the process and details again...can't find it if you have ..would also like to ride for this cause.
  9. Max what shifters do you need? Have some 3x9 mtb ones lying around looking for a good home.
  10. Ran tubes for a while and my friend still does. Conti tubes with some Joe's NoFlats sealant in works like a charm, and not hugely expensive. Conti tubes have removable Presta valve cores that makes life a lot simpler.
  11. You and me both. That bike makes me make strange noises. I've so nearly convinced myself.....
  12. +1 from me as well.
  13. I'm sure that can be sorted. Should the money not be needed i'll happily donate to another good cause.
  14. Both very good suggestions. Agree. Also how about we organize a Marietjie 2.0 vinyl for that toptube.......sure some hubber can help out with that hehe.
  15. http://www.buycycle.co.za/en/components/mtb-en/brake-parts/jagwire-en-2-3-4/jagwire-shimano-hydraulic-fluid-hose-kit-jagwire.html Maybe? Just noticed no red.
  16. My attempt...

  18. So....what worked for my squeaky grabby brakes. 1.) Hit the brakes, pads everything with brake cleaner. 2.) Took off calipers, removed pads, took of rotors. 3.) Reset pistons as per the pinkbike article. 4.) Hit the pad's with brake cleaner again, wiped them down, lightly sanded them to get back to some good braking surface. 5.) Hit the rotors with brake cleaner and wiped them down, they looked good so just cleaned them about 3 times. 6.) Put the calipers pack, hit them with brake cleaner again. 7.) Put on some latex gloves and stuck the pads back in. 8.) Put wheels back after putting rotors back on, aligned the calipers to get rid of rubbing. 9.) Did a few hard stops till I felt the brakes bite, hit them with brake cleaner again. 10.) Now have squeak free brakes, all grabbiness gone, working great.
  19. Same is said about the Racing Ralph Tubeless readies I have on my Silverback. They survived the rocks at the monster, not sure I'll ever see worse sidewall peril than that. Plus I got them on sale for R199 a tyre.
  20. Overhubbing lol. Better get some pics of that smile
  21. Nope, you didn't but you probably saved a lot of us aggravation dealing with an insurer. Besides who needs a reason to do something nice haha. P.S. Maybe a challenge to the LBS and distro's out there to kick in with a good price or help out in another way.....you know you want to! Doh! Forgot to add, transfer done!
  22. Another Camelbak LOBO user here, generally fill it to 2.5l and take it on 90% of rides. I like being prepared. And it's pretty comfortable even after 4 hours.
  23. Every time I curse myself for riding with the Camelback and a mini toolbox and spares and first aid kits in. Then the huge mechanicals happen and I read stories like this and it just makes the decision seem right. Rather have it and not need it than not have it. Hope he gets well soon, and everybody else who had a fall as well.
  24. It's down the road from me.......and the steam summer sale is this month.....my poor bank account 0.0 Thanks for the heads up Patches.
  25. Also, small rocks, big rocks, hard rocks, soft rocks, rolling rocks, I flicked a rock into my frame so hard that I had to stop and check that I hadn't snapped it in half, sounded like a gunshot.
