  1. Was there as well on Sunday. Those ruts, going through the final dip climbing back up I kept eying the side of an uneven rut.....and the predictable happened....dove straight into a Kakiebos shoulder first after the wheel caught the side I was looking at. Luckily just my pride hurt and laughed like a fool about it, especially since I finished up still clipped in. Daai draai sallie wee so vir my kyk nie rofl. Worth a ride for sure.
  2. This is gonna sound crazy, but I have to say good things about the Fluid sealant sold at Game. Cheap and works like a bomb. Otherwise the Joe's No Flat's in both my tubeless setups have been working a dream and should work great in tubes.
  3. My question exactly, have a Recon and Ario due for a service and just need to find all the tools and service kits, videos explain everything well and it's pretty straight forward.
  4. Could call those the Geax Mezcal removal kit for the tyres on my Giant.....those wheels are going to the LBS if anything needs doing, was almost decapitated by a flying tyre lever sticking them on, tight fit se %*^&*
  5. Depending on the bars, most likely drop you're riding position slightly down. Bike shops have a habit of doing this. I went in, said I'm feeling a bit stretched on the bike, what can I try.....a bikefit...not gonna give any other advice. Went to another shop, bought a 70mm 0 rise stem to replace my 100mm 7 degree, much better, don't feel stretched at all anymore and more in control
  6. Was just a sarcastic way of saying it isn't true...
  7. Thanks for the replies everyone. Now at least I know. I'll keep an eye open for a replacement. Luckily don't need the lockout too much,
  8. Give the VW dealers a call. Apparently they can retrofit the removable factory fitted option like I have on my jetta. Something like R7000 which is not cheap, but well worth it.
  9. So I recently bought a bike that had the remote lockout on below. Problem is it's broken beyond belief. Now my questions are: 1.) Are all the RoxkShox remotes cross compatible? 2.) Where can I find one on the cheap, not a huge must have but would be nice? 3.) Anybody have one lying around I could aqquire? http://static.bike-components.de/images/product_images/popup_images/15742_1_rock_shox_pushloc_he.jpg
  10. My word Uni....I just read that. Then read your signature......and now I'm getting strange looks because I laughed so hard.
  11. Haha, fun problem to have. But whatever get's her riding with you. I'd say go for the Silverback. Very good specs and at least it's an air fork. Not sure what Suntours entry Air forks are like but cannot be worse than the pogo stick fitted to the front of my Giant.
  12. Voltmeter all the way. The China shops are great for them. Bought one for 20 bucks there. Checked it against a friends fluke. 95% as accurate.
  13. Haha same here, but heading out to Sabie over easter with some friends and want to get to Mankele. Can't wait. EDIT: Sorry for the off topic
  14. You got that right. And I actually had 2 lights ready to check out in my cart. But after a comment like that......just not on. Lots better ways to state it,
  15. Can't find the article now, but read it a couple of weeks ago. Thieves went through every single lock like it was butter. Either bashed open the locking mechanism, crowbarred the shackle or portable grinder. The only thing that took longer than two minutes was a u lock with locks on each arm. (Which I jut paid R400 for ) Combined with a proper hardened shackle lock on the carrier it might buy 5 minutes. It's not safe at all to leave a bike unnatended anymore. Found the article, bit long winded but eye opening, also shows how thieves work. http://thesweethome.com/reviews/best-bike-lock/
  16. I'm no expert here, but if it's a towbar rack then you could perhaps just buy a towball, some pipe as spacers if needed and some rawlbolts/chemical anchors to achieve the same? Or am I understanding wrong. EDIT: Google FU seems strong with me today, this what you were looking for? http://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Boone-Outdoor/BH90H3FS.html

So accurate. We are not blessed with Hills in the east lol. Think I'll do the 40km as I ended up doing 40km in a 35km fun ride last week......I am not a smart man
  18. You guys are just jealous cause we have all the mine mountains.........
  19. Friend of mine has this exact one. It's a beaut for general laptop and commuting use. Thule quality, but hell pricey. For work I use http://www.takealot.com/computers/everki-swift-light-laptop-backpack-fits-up-to-17-3-inch-screens,28051871. Small and compact, but still a bit of space, well built and cheap as chips, still looks new after a years use though. I just dont commute by bike.
  20. Haha yup. Only fallen once so far. Mud got deep very fast.....dead stop.....doink......
  21. Thanks for that. Very helpfull advice for us newbies.
  22. Lol, they must be well made then. I'm a size 13.....fit very well. Without anything to compare to they do clip very well. Paired with Shimano M-530's took me all of 2 rides to be able to clip in and out easily (first time clipless)
  23. Yep and then the bug bites after you buy a mountain bike and you want a road bike too......ask me :/
  24. I'll third it. Love mine, feel like normal shoes.
