  1. Bottom line, if it was affordable everyone would praise this event, people pay to be amazed. Tough to amaze people by not increasing the distance and elevation every year, also if you are running out of fresh single track
  2. Thanks for bringing the Bavaria Stand back!! One does not simply ride hard and not drink a Bavaria at the finish line!
  3. Giant nailed it with the trance x 29er 3 years ago. Scott and rocky mountain's new bikes have the trance x 29er geometry. Giant is missing the boat when they discarded 29ers to find the best of both. both? 26er no longer exist, so basically, 27.5 is between nothing. Even Nino is changing his views
  4. This bike was designed 3 year too early geometry wise Now its becoming the XC norm
  5. 5 years ago 29ers would have made a lot more sense if they considered changing standards like 148 boost etc to adress all the "cons" of 29ers. 27.5+ gets a warmer reception due to developments caused by Fatties and 29ers. No one talks about sluggish acceleration on 27.5+ because ("you cannot compare it to ....ers) I think MTB will settle on a aspect ratio (width vs Diam) which is ultimatley the fastest for the racing discipline (DH, END,XC)
  6. I was assaulted and robbed at gun point, staring down a barrel is not lekker. If you are carrying a gun, your intention is to shoot and kill. WTF? get your buddies together and do group rides or avoid remote areas (the guy with the gun is now in jail)
  7. I've done a 1 x 10 convertion with a 34T q-ring upfront. (42T at the back) Climbing is a lot faster due to the ratio, but somehow the effort is the same love it
  8. It happens, my HRM is 207. Last ride my AVG was 179 More a V-tec heart than a diesel ticker
  9. Giant defnitly, But I would recommend the Trance x 29 er 1. Reason: It has more travel, and at 100+ kg you still have reasonable usable travel, the frame is also slightly beefed up. My Dad-inlaw (97kg) has a 940, and the moment he sat on my trance, he got buyers remorse.
  10. Specialized Allez 2004 model got the same clamp config.
  11. For the guys doing Diamond rush for the first time, prepare for some sand riding, it got me last year, 29ers flying past me.
  12. Test yourself, How many times do you actually pedal downhill Trail/XC above 40km/h. even on straight sections. Stage races are more climbing 1x11 @ 32T you might spin out on 40km/h. Another hubber did comment that you adapt to your gears, which makes sense Climbing Suikerbossie on a road bike proves it, you just do it
  13. Giant Trance X 29 0 All you need
