  1. All that is needed to evil to reign is for good men to do nothing.
  2. Boondock Saints meets Collateral Damage.
  3. I'm almost back to normal. Can feel the fever slowly leaving my face. Didn't have any body issues. All just neck and up. Sore throat (wasn't crazy sore but sucked in the mornings), lots of snot and some gunk to cough up. That's it. This one was very "slow" onset. Usually I feel super k#k for a week then the 2nd week I start turning for the better. This time it started very slowly and bled over into the 2nd week. By Thursday I should be good. Cycled to work and back yesterday (25km round trip) and felt good, just face was still a bit feverish.
  4. I would do exactly the same thing. I wouldn't be surprised if the taxi didn't just end up going around the circle and back up the wrong way again.
  5. Indeed.
  6. Floyd. Got a settlement from the case against LA. Using the money to start/fund a cycling team. Talking under correction. Slight epic fail to post with a bike without pedals. Clearly the weed he is selling is making him fly, negating the need to actually pedal.
  7. Not really. Luckily it said "those that believe". That's a thing though. If someone "doesn't believe" there is this automatic perception that they must be a horrible person for some or other biased reason. Couldn't be furthest from the truth. I'm hoping with all my heart that Karmi pulls through this difficult phase and comes out stronger afterwards! More than that, doesn't matter what I do, won't make a difference in this. All I can do is hope.
  8. LOL. I get it. OMW.
  9. Yep. All. None are as special as to get a free pass. And no, no other "ism" out there, humanism, veganism, whatever, tries to tell and scare/guilt trip anyone with an afterlife they'll loose out on if they don't believe that one specific "ism".
  10. This.
  11. Indeed. If you can believe in the impossible, you are sure you achieve it as well.
  12. Is this the same Jesus that created the whole universe by speaking it into existence... then needed Adam's rib to make one more thing?
  13. LOL, yeah sorry, not happening anytime soon
  14. Went on a cuise ship with my vrou. She couldn't handle the motion of the ocean. This was her every day of the cruise. See siek en dronk.
  15. Is this ignorance you speak of the same as not knowing what you are talking about, while believing you do?
  16. I prefer option No.3 Live your life, be a good person (if you want), and then you die. What happens after death? Nothing, same as what happened before you were born.
  17. And when they go they leave behind a huge heart made of s**t.
  18. Vra dit...
  19. Oh I don't hate you at all. If anything I pity you for your self inflicted, militant ignorance on the topic. You saying that I've got a thing for you, please don't flatter yourself. You saying that is like Robert Mugabe going on about Tony Blaire and Brittain all the time, trying to keep himself relevant and making as if they actually give a damn about him and that he is in some way important.
  20. Got a brother?
  21. Don't share personal stuff of that nature, unless you are willing to hear an opinion you might not like.
  22. Afrikaans has a nice saying... Hou jouself voor as 'n toffie, en jy gaan gelek word. If you are going to lay that kinda info out, you are making yourself fair game for comments.
  23. The only authority is indeed yourself. You plot your own destiny. The choices you make are the choices YOU make. They aren't made for you. Just because you made the choice doesn't mean its good. You could choose to litter, which is bad, etc. Your life to this very moment is a summary of all the choices you have made, mixed in with every single person you've come in contact with and who they have come in contact with, all having made their own choices. Humanism is a progressive philosophy of life that, without theism or other supernatural beliefs, affirms our ability and responsibility to lead ethical lives of personal fulfillment that aspire to the greater good. Anyways, that's what I base my life on. Basically, be lekker, don't be a d1ck.
  24. The problem is that "good" level headed people are choosing to have none, or maybe 1 child. Right there, you and your wife (and by "you" I mean people who follow that pattern) have reduced two humans down to one. Enough "good" people who do that, and the populace of rationally thinking people keep on shrinking. On the other hand and as statet by someone else, people who can barely afford to properly feed one child - have four. Per girlfriend/wife. In one generation the levels of poverty (and lack of education ie stupidity) doubles or more. Whats going to happen in the long run? I've always said, good people, have kids. Even if it might go tough for a few years, have kids! Same as above. I'm sure you see yourself as a decent chap. There are others who aren't decent people who don't give a damn. They pop out another baby every other year because they know good people, such as yourself, will be there to pick up the tab with taxes while they score government grants. It isn't a sustainable system. My realizations in life: There will always be more poor than rich people. There will always be more stupid than smart people. There will always be more people who don't give a damn than those who do. And what is good people's plan to rectify/combat this? To reduce their own numbers. Insanity.
  25. That is very nice. Lots of value-add in that bike.
