  1. So Sauser and Platt are both on 5 wins? I rate the only real reason why he would ride is to have the overall win crown all to himself again.
  2. Ok well, time to Unlike the Scott Sports Africa FB page
  3. Bubble. Burst.
  4. Draw is at 12.
  5. If she had a cold/snozzy/sickish.... why ride a race within 24 hours (the half life)? If I had any illness requiring stuff like Sinustat (or similar), I wouldn't be in a condition to ride the next day already.
  6. +1. Felt it coming last night and boom, home run this morning. Snotty nose plus sore throat. Entire head feeling kqk.
  7. First thing to be taken off is the dropper post.
  8. Same thing with laptops. You can buy a Sahara laptop for R5000 or a Dell for R15000. Both will have either one of two or three popular brand hard drives in, both will have a motherboard made by one of about 3 different companies (Asus, Gigabyte, Intel), RAM from one of also about 3 different companies and a CPU mostly from 1 company, Intel. Jy betaal vir die naam ou pêl. Hence why I will never buy a big name brand bike again, Spaz, Cannondale, BMC, etc. For the price of this frame alone I can build a top range hardtail using a Chinese frame (my current Chinarello frame is going on 4 years old and still solid as a rock), and pretty much top range parts.
  9. R71k... Yeah. Ok. I'd rather take about R8k, order one of these Chinese frames, build my parts over, and get a similar effect.
  10. For sure. Couple of years ago I bought a NEW, carbon dual suspension (26er though), RS Reba, XO/X9 parts, for R22k. This was out of the box from a bike shop. These days you can barely get an X7/SLX bike for that price.
  11. Wish I could get an entry. My mom, in her 60's, said it would be a bucketlist item of hers to be able to say she's done the Argus. I've done plenty, got my Sub3 in the bag. Now a perfect day would be to have my mom on the back of the tandem and do a social Argus. Going from Coke stop to Coke stop, just chilling and having a lekker time.
  12. "...ended up riding solo to the line, finishing just behind a big group of riders" What group of riders? If I look at the results he finished 2 seconds behind one guy, but infront of that guy they were all spread out evenly over a period of 1-2 minutes. Certainly no "group". Great result though, something I could never emulate, but just saying.
  13. I have for years. Never a problem. Read years ago that Geoff Kabush does it, and he isn't a small chap. If is works for him, guess what.
  14. Who says he supported what was happening at the campuses?
  15. Ok yes on that aspect I agree. I was more talking about the actual tracking. So yeah if you are out in the boendoes without reception a cell won't help you - even though your cell might still have GPS coverage.
  16. Had to give it back after the event. But this is not something to track yourself with - and see it tracking you. We used it for the people at home to follow you online. Depending on the quality and technology advances in individual GPS chips... for me GPS is GPS. Good old SportsTracker on my S4 has never let me down.
  17. As far as I know, GPS isn't dependant on the cell having a signal. In the same trail run I was using a cell based app as well and even in the most remote parts of the park with no cell reception the GPS still kept running. The phone might not be able to download the "map", but if you are following a set route like I was, it works.
  18. Used one of these (orange one) for the Addo 100 Miler trail run earlier this year. Worked 100%. Was out in the wilderness for over 30 hours and the battery didn't run down.
