  1. No idea what its called mate.
  2. What about that "milk" they give newborns if the mom can't produce enough? Or is that the stuff they are giving her?
  3. If you are selling those, I'd buy.
  4. Finally sick. Just a headcold. Had such a good run. I attribute it to the body being run down from stress of resigning (HR issues in terms of notice period etc) and changing jobs. Plus carried on training while I was feeling down so I probably contributed to it myself.
  5. There is no justice in a child having to go through this.
  6. Ag nee. Moenie dit sĂȘ nie.
  7. The thing with a pain in or on your head is that you cannot escape it. You can't block it out or "go to your happy place". Your entire reality in that moment is just pain. I'm sure you'll skip that part brother, its rare.
  8. You also get a variant of shingles which makes no sores at all. I had that on my scalp, right hand side. Basically from where your hair starts, over the top of your head about halfway. Absolutely ridiculous itching. But scratching also doesn't do anything as the itching isn't a real itch, its the nerves telling your brain that you are itching. There is nothing agitating the skin. I had to go to doctors and other health places that mix their own stuff to get anti itch cream which I had to paste into my hair. But nothing worked. That was the nice part. Then came the post shingles neuralgia. Enter Occipital Neuralgia. <Insert blasphemous term here> guys. I was sitting with my wife in the lounge when the first attack happened. Its this burning pain that started from the back of my neck and then expands to the top of your head on the one side. Insane pain. You'd just be minding your own business, and boom. The attack lasts about 60 seconds. After that 60 seconds of clenching your fists, biting down on your teeth and making grunting noises, the pain slowly subsides. Your vision would be blurry and your face would be sweating on one side. I was taking between 12-16 Myprodols every day and it didn't even make a dent in the pain. It lasted about a week with an attack roughly every 6 hours. Then it stopped. I told my wife I'd probably prefer to rather pass away than go through that again. It was not humane.
  9. What meds did you get? Larica?
  10. Where are the spots? Watch out for the post shingles neuralgia...
  11. I got the SMS this morning.
  12. Awesome to bring out those alloy Trails!
  13. So, now we have: DG KE BS RC and possibly MK. Who's next?
  14. You never know. One of my LBS's recently dropped its price on a new Cervelo from like R55k to something like R30k. The profit margins on new bikes are very thick, especially on the top end. Makro might be more interested in moving large quantities at a small margin than bike shops that look for those odd big bike sales.
  15. Me thinks this will cheapify Cannondale's premier image.
  16. Well that's just stupid then... How can they make a "tubeless" rim... and then leave it with a hole in. Eish.
  17. Agree, does look like no tape needed. So by airvent he could only mean the valve hole. Maybe the valve isn't snugging up tight enough on the inside of the rim. Could remedy that by cranking the locknut a bit more, but sometimes that might not work. Depending on the actual tubeless valve, if the rubber bit was round, I'd drill the rim out ever so slightly so that the valve can "pull into" the rim a tiny bit. Locking it down with the lockring would then be pretty airtight. If the value had a square rubber bit... hmmmm...
  18. Air vent on the inside of the rim? Huh? Doesn't sound like your rimtape was put in properly. I use the R25 rolls of silver rimtape you get at some shops. 1 layer. Sometimes, one layer of insulation tape before it, but usually just one layer of cheapy rimtape. https://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/sportsmans-warehouse-tubeless-rim-tape
  19. That's what I was wondering. The event in question that prohibited them was Trans Karoo, a few years ago. I have a set of Cinelli Spinaci bars that I've used lots in the past in MTB races (and I have to admit they've helped me to a few wins as well), but then I saw they were actually banned years prior so they've been shelved since. I would love to use them though. By just going into that semi tuck position you immediately pick up 4-5km/h without pedaling any harder.
  20. My concern is still wether this would be allowed in races. I've done events before where they've banned all "forward facing" attachments which might give an aero advantage. I know some GPS mounts etc actually stick out further than this, but no-one holds onto their Garmin mount for an aero advantage. I don't know the rules, I know the UCI have their math how they work this out. Maybe a track or TT rider knows the rules?
  21. I find when I am sick, you (dug) obviously feel completely kuk. What helps me is having a Monster or Play or Score or some of those caffeine loaded energy drinks. For me, at least, it kinda brings you up from the dumps and makes you feel almost a little normal. So, it isn't to get you from 100% to 130%, its to get you from 70% back to 100%. At least for a few hours.
  22. Been having a great year with illnesses. By that, I actually mean a lack of. Been noticably sick maybe once. Usually I'm down and out at least 5 times a year. And having done quite a few big events I expected to come down with something after these events when the body was knocked. But the colds didn't come. Can't stress washing your hands and avoiding to touch your face enough. Not that it probably helps much, but I do pop a daily multivit, slowmag, extra vitamin C, and some Omega 3 capsules every day. Otherwise, try avoid sick people as far as possible. I have no issues sitting at work with a buff over my mouth/nose if someone is sick. Probably doesn't help much to keep the germs out, but it does give me a little bit of confidence.
  23. Dunno if its been said, but you guys realize this thread is what caused gravel bikes, right?
  24. Advice needed... ride tonight or not. Man down with a cold last Tuesday. Edit, cold probably brought on by a big weekend on the bike 2 days prior, probably knocking the body too much. Spent two days at home then came back to work but obviously wasn't right. I'm not 100% yet but feel fine, now a week later. Just hacking up the last of the lovely nastiness at the moment. Nose not really running anymore. Trans Baviaans is coming up and I'm afraid that I'm going to loose all my gainz if I don't get back on the bike soon. Face feels sliiiiiiiiiiiiiiightly feverish still, but not that you'd really notice. Tonight's ride is a super slow 30km road ride on MTBs. What would you do?
