  1. Yesterday I felt like looking up some photos of Burry Stander, and re-read a few news articles that followed his death. In the one article, who did they speak to for some inside info? Barry McCallum. Felt pretty unreal. https://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/kwazulu-natal/cyclists-wife-cradled-him-at-scene-1447719

  3. Personally, I am not religious. There have been over 4000 different Gods and religions during the age of man on earth. At best I find it arrogant that people assume or even insist that their pick from those 4000... is the "right" one. More often than not, their choice was often made on their behalf by their parents when they were young and impressionable. Each religion claims to worship the one true deity. As Matt Dillahunty said... they can't all be RIGHT... but, they can all be WRONG. For instance... doctor fixes a kid injured in an accident. Parents go "Thank G*d!". Firstly... doctor thinks... um yeah... I did that. I studied 10 years to get these skills. Its insulting and disrespecting the doctors skill and commitment. Secondly... the Doctor might be Hindu... or Muslim... he doesn't bow to the deity of the happy parents. So how does that work then? People with illnesses sometimes heal in ways that science can't yet explain. People then implement the "God of the gaps" fallacy (Google it) to explain what they can't yet grasp. Basically... injecting religion into the gaps of our understanding. Religion is the safety blanket that adults wrap themselves in when accepting that sometimes life is unfair is too difficult. Its easier to just switch your brain off and accept "the plan". So my dude... I'm not gonna pray for you (studies actually show that prayer actually had a negative impact as you feel pressure to improve because you know people are praying, putting more stress on you). What I am gonna do is hope as hard as I can that you can kick this things butt. Fight fight fight!

  7. Kinda shipping related... but also AliExpress seller related. Super keen to purchase a very nice GPS running watch from AliExpress. Done my research and know what I want. I found a seller that offered DHL shipping for $32 which seemed pretty reasonable (9-22 days shipping). The seller also had other products which I wanted, like screen protectors and a "case" that clips over the watchface to protect it. For these items, the seller didn't offer DHL shipping, only free "AliExpress Standard Shipping", which means anything from 2 months to 6 months. So I asked the seller, obviously trying to translate English into Engrish, that he/she must please just take the small items I'm taking and box them up with the watch and send it all DHL. The small items wouldn't add 30 grams and fit in the palm of your hand... here's the convo... read from the bottom up. Jerry Lin 18/11/26 08:11 cancel it with other reasons. i will refund you all money. Me 18/11/26 08:10 Omg. Yes you said that. AFTER that you said "I will". What does "I will" mean then? Jerry Lin 18/11/26 08:08 "no ,the case are not together with the watch." Me 18/11/26 08:07 I said "i want you to ship both in one parcel because watch is DHL". you said "I will". check it. Jerry Lin 18/11/26 08:06 i said the case are not together with the watch before. check it. Me 18/11/26 08:03 i asked you to ship together and you said you will? now you say no? Me 18/11/26 08:03 $30? Jerry Lin 18/11/26 08:02 how much should i declare in the parcel ? Jerry Lin 18/11/26 08:02 the case are not together with the watch. we can not ship them together. Me 18/11/26 08:01 Order placed, thank you very much. Me 18/11/26 07:52 ok, thank you. Jerry Lin 18/11/26 07:52 i will . Me 18/11/26 07:50 i know. i want to buy two items. i want you to ship both in one parcel because watch is DHL. easier for you as well to send 1 parcel Jerry Lin 18/11/26 07:50 no, the case are not together with the watch. Me 18/11/26 07:49 and you ship everything DHL in one parcel? please respond. i want to place order. Jerry Lin 18/11/26 07:45 place the order by yourself. Me like a case for it and maybe another strap 1 watch and a few accessories for the watch. 18/11/26 06:19 Jerry Lin 18/11/26 06:19 yes, we can. how many do you want to buy ? Me Hello anyone there? Can you bundle multiple items together? 18/11/25 23:08 So, after the sellers final message they go and block me, I can't talk to them any further. And now there aren't any other sellers that have all the items I want in one shop. UGH! And... it will take up to 20 days to get my refund. I spoke to AliExpress customers services about this and they were most helpful, even saying "don't worry sir we will punish the seller for treating you like this". The shopping continues...

  12. That is a Banksy piece. Most of his stuff carry a strong message. I'd classify most of his/her pieces art. I say his/her as Banksy's identity has never been confirmed.
  13. That's the way things are going I guess. The Munga isn't all just flats and uphills. No problem with swopping out the dropper for a fixed post I'm sure. I think The Momsen guys were trying to cover all the possibilities, and that's understandable given the Munga's vast distance to cover.
  14. https://bikerumor.com/2018/11/19/momsen-builds-a-special-bike-for-munga-full-suspension-drop-bar-vipa-ultra/ Anyone who has been on the bike through the 90's would immediatelly appreciate the throwback, especially if you knew the man that designed it's own long standing appreciation for the influence a certain Mr. Johnny T had on our sport. My opinion is that this bike is the best of everything you could need for something like the Munga. Dual sus. Aero features. LITRES of drink storage and tons of onboard storage as well. Planned by Victor Momsen and assembled by Robbie Powell and his team who is a legend in his own right. Sho... This bike gives me... feelings. Unsure how something so modern can unearth that "old school" feeling as well at the same time. http://thebodymechanic.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/MTB3.jpg
