  1. I think out neighbours are cursing me today, I was cheering like a mad man! And then shouting at everyone doing a run afterwards to make mistakes Sorry buurmense!
  2. Also went for mine 2 weeks ago. I am thoroughly impressed by the test and the amount of information you receive from it. Now I know what to work on (my eating and stretching skills seem to be the important ones). The test was hectic, was dead afterwards. Took me a few minutes to find the strength to get off the bike, but recovered quite quickly, which I was chuffed about. If you have the cash moneys to go do the test I'd say go for it. You'll probably find out some interesting facts about your abilities and where you can improve. BTW, those figures looks good geraldm24, I can see why you give the hurt on occasion to the guys at the races.
  3. Wow, he just continues to amaze! What a race and what a performance by the Maincheese, well done boet!!
  4. Great news! I wonder how the day licence business is going to be sorted out...
  5. Shut up and take my money That S5, just wow...
  6. That makes more sense ja. Thought they measure the amount of oxygen in your blood for VO2, but I like the sound of a breathing thingy more, haha!
  7. I'm also thinking of doing this. Is the VO2 test the one where you go all out and then they prick your finger for some blood?
  8. Mass participation, go check out http://www.unite4mandela.co.za/ to enter. Lekker climbing in the Groenkloof area
  9. Amazing story!! Like Raydek said, goosebumps!!! Glad you guys made it back safely, that is some story to tell!
  10. It was Friday evening at about 7, they were up at one of the viewpoints drinking wine when they were attacked.
  11. A friend of mine and her fiancée was attacked on Klapperkop Friday evening. I think it's the couple that Letum911 is referring to. They stole the lady's jewellery (luckily not her engagement ring) and her fiancée was stabbed a few times. Both of them are OK, the guy needed some stitches and the lady has a few bruises, luckily they didn't try anything with her. It's getting hectic up there...
  12. I would suggest adding bracing in at least 2 bays, i.e. leaving one open for people to walk through. I also agree with Hairy with regards to lateral support, it will help the structure to not buckle as people cycle over it. Top and bottom lateral supports should be sufficient. The bracing plus the lateral support will then in essence stiffen the bridge in all directions. Hope this helps
  13. I want to say it's only the money holding me back But let's be serious... Good luck in finding a partner!
  14. Quite close, but not strictly the same. The one gives a ratio of 0.67 and the other 0.71, so close enough I would say.
  15. The way everyone in the office looked at me when I jumped up and did the happy dance Goooooo Impey!!
  16. I also took the plunge and got me some Assos. Only done one ride so far, not too far, but they were amazing. Funny enough, on my commute yesterday I wore my Anatomic bibs, can't tell you how uncomfortable they were Assos FTW!
  17. Yes please! Can't wait for this, some sick hill reps on my way there via Klapperkop and Rigel, then some epic (if I may use that term) XCO and then a suffer fest back home! Sounds good
