  1. Had a great time out there again, really enjoy this race. Finished with the front of A, stoked about that. Thanks to all the guys who helped with the pacing, tried to help where I can. Hope all the guys who fell in A are OK, heard a big one behind me when we turned towards Moses Mabida at the start. Heard about a few more afterwards as well. Heal up well peeps. PS. I see PPA seedings have been updated to include results for Tour Durban. Beta of 0.79.
  2. Brilliant!
  3. I must clearly grow a staché, makes you win it seams. #outwiththebeard #whatbeard
  4. What a day! What a race! What a vibe! Loved every second of it. Came home in 6:21, everyone gave it their all and we had shattered bodies crossing the finish line. Had some bad luck in the first half of the race with 2 punctures and a crash in our group, luckily nothing too bad. Much improved second half, found a good rhythm and we soldiered on to a good finish. Closing note, how about that mineshaft with 160km in the legs
  5. Good luck with that! I'm in a social racing team, if that makes any sense. So long(ish) day out.
  6. Went up there last weekend. If you have the correct gearing, you'll be fine. Still going to hurt though Edit. Think you worded it better than I did. Can't wait, but I really can do with a few more years of training.
  7. Me, me, pick me If my feelings regarding Saturday is anything to go by, I think everyone is too scared to talk about the race...
  8. We can only hope!
  9. Didn't Gen miss PR?
  10. Supposed to do my research proposal. It can wait for tonight
  11. From Inrng: "This was vintage Nibali, bent over his bike with his hands high on top of the brake hoods like a hurried waiter carrying an invisible tray. "
  12. I might still be crying a bit, what a victory by Nibbles, I still have goosebumps!
  13. I will be shouting at the tv screen for the next (half) hour if that happens
  14. Had my first proper panic attack whilst training the other day. Even though I was in the pool and could just stand up, I forced myself to get myself back together in the water. Immediately rolled over onto my back until my breathing was sorted, then kept swimming while muttering "relax <insert expletives here>" to myself (talking to yourself underwater helps with breathing out BTW ). Finished my set and went home thinking oh boy. Hopefully this session will help IF I do get an attack in the water. Definitely have to go do some open water swims before June.
  15. I saw a Zipp sale on their email and played around to see prices and so on. Didn't really click until now that it automatically showed (and priced) shipping to SA. Awesome news though Can't remember price of shipping though.
  16. The moment I stop drowning I'm sure it'll be a bit better. And then hopefully it'll be perfectly time so that I don't get bored before I have to go to Durbs.
  17. This. So much of this. I hate swimming, it's the worst thing ever.
  18. Nibali to race Flanders http://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/racing/vincenzo-nibali-tour-flanders-debut-know-nothing-just-ive-seen-tv-367134 Love this guy, always up for another challenge!
  19. Ah, good
  20. Does that actually mean anything to us normal people anymore?
  21. Hopefully they'll make the A-batch actually race this time round. If there is one thing A-batch is very good at, it's closing down attacks and then sitting up. Best doms you'll ever find.
  22. If you could see my skinny arms you might find even more hope
  23. Similar to you in the swimming department, absolutely horrible at it. I found working on my stroke, relaxing (because I'm scared AF of water) and getting the breathing right first was more important than the distance. The distance comes easy enough after that (couldn't swim 2 lengths back-to-back and after a month I did the Midmar). Now training for Durban 70.3 (again from scratch in swimming), so going to get some coaching this time to try and get better at it. Good luck though and hang tough, you'll get there.
  24. Thanks for sharing, was also wondering.
  25. Fair enough. So Chris gets to sit last wheel and take selfies of himself, so no one can see what is going on. Smart plan!
