  1. Gees one topic at a time. This is close to being spam.
  2. Had to rethink this. It is a mountain bike race so if there is single track make your own track past the slower opponent or is that against the rule. What is acceptable course deviation?
  3. I also after losing a few rides due to the device resetting had to take off the cadence/speed sensor as it made the device reset in rough terrain where the sensors got struck by rocks. After taking those off it never happened again. It never happened on tar or gravel roads.
  4. With what device. I have the Rider 21. I have to use bryton bridge or the website. Bridge only saves the file in a format that I can later upload to strava. Unless I'm missing something.
  5. I want so many things. I fear my bryton wont even get sold.
  6. For a while now specially over weekends I noticed when trying to upload files from my device that the website has all kinds of problems. I sometimes struggle to just log in. Well today I get to various stages of the upload process but can not seem to finish the upload. Then from time to time I also get a message that say they are busy working on the website. I've used different browsers and computers. I have tried my home network and from work. This is clearly a Bryton problem and not mine. Does anyone else have the same problems. I seems to be getting worse as time goes on. There is a work around to get the data directly on Strava by first exporting the data to a GPX file. But why the hell is brytonsport.com not working.
  7. You lot actually made me have a look at this bike. I never have and I do not know why. It immediately cuts the price range down for a well respected bike. These okes do not usually give 5 stars but the Anthem X 2013 model got full marks. And the 2014 27.5 Model got 4.5 Stars http://www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/category/bikes/mountain-bikes/full-suspension/product/review-giant-anthem-x-29er-1-13-47170/
  8. Firstly I'll request. Then I'll attempt to pass on the side at my discomfort at a straight section. But if at that point my front weel passes you and then you want to race or are annoyed that I'm overtaking that your problem. Well not YOU but whomever I'm passing. Cos some people don't like being passed. My seeding is slowly getting better as my first ever two races I had mech problems and got in at 55 and 55 rating. But at my last attempt I got a 31. So two more races without indecent and I'll be where I want to be. My average seeding is still at 47 so i'll probably only move up from G to E or F in a big race.
  9. FOOOOOO k. I do klapperkop almost every morning when I cycle at 6:15 ish to 6:30 ish. There are so many walkers, joggers and cyclist on klapperkop it would be a shame to see someone injured or the plase becoming deserted. On last Friday a car pulled up next to me on Botha laan going north. Eventually I tried listening to him as I was going +- 40km/h. Guess what he asked me... Where is Pretoria
  10. Also combining finishes of a 40 and 70 km race can cause frustration for fast riders in both races.
  11. This past weekend I had quite a few issues passing people. 1. Firstly people taking the right hand line because it is "Smoother" then they complain if I pass on the left. (I never listen but could remember something about keeping left passing right being said at the start by the officials) 2. Same as 1. On a Jeep track with two clear lines. The huy rides in the right hand track and I go twice as fast down the hill. I shout coming past on the left. He has a fright and moves in front of me forcing me off the track. 3. District road. Why do people need ride the whole road chatting. 4. Also on smaller farm road but wide enough I was riding patiently behind a girl gossiping with her friend. When she noticed me she said sorry peddle harder and moved in front of he friend. I could see others were also annoyed. The thing is if you keep quiet then be sure that your effort to get past might go unnoticed. Be sure when you communicate your intentions you do not startle the guy in front of you. Also by keeping quiet you can startle a rider when going past him or her. If you are the rider in front by keeping to the right I believe you forfeit the right not to be passed on the left.
  12. I can only sugest something in the field where I feel comfortable in. That is information systems. I would like to see the like function further developed on the hub. Where a post can not just be liked but rated and then after a certain threshold was reached a moderator can review his advice keeping with the original advice but put it in better words and the advice can also be reviewed by a professional expert. All three posts can then be posted in a permanent Q&A section with proper tags. First the original question, then the hub post then the expert opinion.
  13. I'll make sure to refuel by you. I'm doing the full 24 Hour solo. My wife is looking after the baby so I need to feed myself. Was just thinking what to get for the race.
  14. I have entered. Long term weather forecast is that next weekend will be nice and warm.
  15. I wonder how much it changes a riders angle with the surface going downhill. Can this help me not go superman. And how will that affect the angle going up. Anyway my head is stuck at the idea of having a motor in the bike.... maybe when I'm 70 and have serious gout problems.
  16. I stay next to Groenkloof in Monument Park extention will send PM
  17. At the Hunting expo this year in JHB a guy shot his son in the bathroom accidentally. Yes it does happen
  18. Maybe I'll take you up on that if I have not found a solution by Monday. I just spent my budget on cycle kit and other cycle stuff and maybe need to buy extra lighting. Burned an imported light in last years rainy season.
  19. Kalahari has power monkey for R250... But dispatches in 10 days... facepalm old Kala must be looking for a new job maybe thats why he is performing street magic.
  20. And it does not stop the device from recording while charging?
  21. I am doing a 24 hour ride soon and would like to record the entire thing as a single ride on my bike GPS. I think mine (Bryton Rider 21) is good for 10 hours or so. Besides putting the back light off I would like to know how to extend the battery charge. My concerns are if I use a power source to recharge will the device shut down and close the current ride. Has anyone found a solution for riding longer than a single charge lasts. The other day I saw posts were guys lost sections of the trans Baviaans due to Garmins running out of battery live.
  22. Nic you say we, was that a team effort? What was the single person distance. I do not know why but that is what I'm doing this year. Any tips
  23. So why does he not post photos of every bike he comes across. Stolen High end bikes get sold to lycra wearing cheapskates. Commuters normally ride cheap bikes specially old Makro mountain bikes.
  24. My grandfather told me a way to get to the honey. Gently catch a bee, tie lightweight thread to it leg and follow it. It can not go fast with the thread and it is easy to spot. Anyway get glucose powder and mix in your water. I have never tried it but I am sure something will happen
