  1. No need they just need to scrutinize the winners and if something is wrong the runners up and so on and so on. I almost cheated unknowingly but asked the admins to help rectify the problem. I'll offer my services as an analyst to try help. The cheater must be banned from strava and thehub. Giving your GPS reader to a mate is just being a dooooooooooooooooooos
  2. Its the vibration. Do not try and ride through it. Lift your hands in the air and shake them from time to time. I can imagine ignoring it causing longer term damage. Experiment with different bar grips and gloves. You put a lot of pressure on the lower thumb
  3. I agree with the OP. It even causes a safety issue for other cyclists when done wrong. Even just two riders. People chatting in bunches while I'm cycling with the little time I have. Then I have to pass them which creates a danger to me. And no they see me coming but still prefer riding next to each other.
  4. You should go back to that thread. It was explained. Your version of the story is wrong
  5. You can do 20 on a Friday easy. But this thread is special if you started yesterday maybe you could have been half way by now
  6. Jy kan beter doen as 5. See that is two for the day.
  7. This one is for the weekend
  8. Think I have seen it too. But if not mistaken it is an annual publication
  9. Although I loved VanGaalens and the Monster. I still need time before taking on the Magaliesberg. Will defenitly be there next year.
  10. How does the Ultra's technicality and profile compare to that of van gaalens ultra. I did the 80 at van gaalens and found it very technical on the decent.
  11. OK ... Pay me per 100 posts and I will get your post count up. Also send me your login details. If people hate you afterwards... thats well covered in the T's & C's.... I take no resposibility
  12. lol So wanner gan ry ons weer??
  13. How does it compare to the van Gaalens race in technicality.
  14. Genugtig, I feel I need a medal for trying to follow this thread. Maybe if a seller can endorse a buyer after a deal. Or a "Sold To" function/flag should solve two problems. Indicating an item is sold and shows a count of how many items a guy buys on the hub.
  15. Bicycling should be free. With the amount of advertising under guize of gear reviews and sometimes conflicting and sometimes repeated training tips. Articles lack depth. I sometimes read an article and then are left hanging, thinking there is a page missing. Tread is decent. In general I'd like to see more coverage of local races and riders and somewhat trails (propper trail coverage) and gear articles. We also love statistics. Also a permanent race calendar in every issue please. Once a year calendars do not work. Lose the lose fat fast articles. If you give advice put it in perspective and or categories it between novice and pro. What works for the pro's wont work for the weekend warrior. You will rather stuff him up for good. If I read a magazine 4 issues in a row it sometimes feel like I have read everything twice.
  16. That time of year is already hot in Namakwaland. It is not Cape Town... be warned... stay hidrated
  17. I wont worry too much about long rides. You can take some safty carbs with but so far I did not really use them.

    Lost city 2014

I am sure if the offenders could be named they could be banned from racing.
  19. My bike has done +- 3000km on one set of pads as the day I bought it. Ho long does pads last?
  20. Like any other Mountain biker I have reasoned this in my head over and over again and it is always difficult to explain the topic to someone who is asking for advice. So here goes my best effort.... 3 Guys Jim, Bob and Roy has to read a book. Jim can read a book without glasses, bob needs glasses to read and Roy can not read. If Jim uses bobs glasses it will actually make him not able to read and no glasses will make Roy able to read better if he does not first learn how to read. But Jim can read better with glasses if it is highly specialized but it will in the long run impair his natural sight. Bob can even become better than Jim if he uses the correct glasses. Glasses can even correct your eyesight problems over time in CERTAIN cases. Roy has the best vision of all three with his glasses on but he still needs to learn how to read. Reading done... Now these three okes want to go driving. Roy can race with the best and his glasses are just there to keep the dust out. Jim as night vision problems and Bob drives like his grandma. The same thing with bikes and their suspension. Find out your weakness and what you want to use the bike for. I know I can improve my climbing easily through training and fitness. My going down skills aint that bad but on technical descents I struggle. Therefore I need a duel suspension bike. I also want to do trails so I will look for a duel suspension with 120 travel bike (do not want to do trails for sport or semi downhill reasons). Then I love the longer distances. Unfortunately a 120 travel semi trail bike will at some point be a huge disadvantage. I can still then use my old hard tail but after 5 hours and half of that on corrugation I hate my saddle. I can not wait for my DS bike. I hope it does not take too much out of my climbing abilities.
  21. I spoke to the guys at Bester Cycles PTA and they will stock a few new Cube models next year. I'll be trying the 120 model as soon as my situation allows it.
  22. The Cube Stereo Range. From 120 29r to 140 and 160 27.5 http://www.cube.eu/en/bikes/fullsuspension/stereo/stereo-140-hpc-race-29/
  23. It is professional sport not amateur sport. Like half the Boks playing rugby in France. But they do call themselves African as that is where the team originates as a package of Sponsors, base and vision. The European riders are there for talent and experience. Hi heard an interview once that the ideal would be to have an all African team in the future. But for now they are building a name for the team so they get invited onto more tours. They do bring those riders over to SA from time to time to train here. I would hope that one day we can stage a tour in SA that would attract other European teams to come race here. Maybe if these guys get respect over there and invite other teams to come over here we could see a revolution in cycling in SA. Interesting think is that the UCI dropped SA for an WC event as there was a lack of spectators at the last such event.... Can not remember which event was talked about.
  24. I did not know Shown but I feel that this could have been myself and that his family could have been mine as I Cycle Solomon Mahlango regularly. I know almost every Cyclist in Pretoria has to use that road at some time. It must be so hard to deal with such a tragedy for everyone that known him... Sterkte
