  2. I cant really figure out a system like the swat specialized set-up...so the bottle cage on the seat post has a 2no. bomb holder and im gonna put my cylindrical plastic tool kit holder in that cage...tried the saddle bag and it just doesnt last... any other idea's for a proper tool kit/storage option...?

  4. Just a quick one following the tech class yest at PWC. Felt like a real dumbass flipping out onto my backside yest (thank goodness i wasnt alone #Steve) however my dumbassness was replaced with some excellent wisdom as the class moved on. learnt a real lot yest, thanks Peach. Looking forward to the class on 31 Jan.
  5. Peach, pls put my name down for the 31 Jan Intrm. Tech. class at Hakahana...thanks. p.s. some people dont have book faces accounts...or have deleted them...will all future info regarding your classes be posted on this thread?
  6. Cant wait for Saturday...super excited
  7. Mmmm ok...well for the R600 it includes a race shirt (quality ???), voucher for Garmin R800 and discount for Bicycling...doesnt seem too bad + obviously the discount on the entry fees. I will try and not be too much of a cynic ...
  8. Back to the title of the thread "Team discovery - 50% back on events" the devil is always in the detail. Reading their website be sure to understand that it is up to 50% discount, so no doubt depending on your Vitality status, the discount will vary accordingly. As rightly also pointed out, there are no details yet on what races the discount will offered on. This is TBC... and the cap on the saving of R3,000 is already been clearly made. All in all, check when the list of races where the discount will be applicable and then make an informed decision...the discount however and vouchers, free stuff etc should still make it somewhat worthwhile, but dont be expecting to save tens of thousands. In my opinion even if it helps save R2k, its R2k I never had before...
  9. Schnoodle, if you mind me asking what did you pay for this set up? Im assuming you specified the components, wheels etc. Great looking bike ...
  10. Im using IE and have also been sent around in circles ?!
  11. I tried registering now with IE and no luck!? Keeps taking me in circles.... please sort it out soon...dont wanna miss out on my registration for the half-marathon...the bug at Cullinan has bitten !!!????
  12. Sounds great but Im in JHB area. If you doing something similar up here I would defn be there.
  13. I Got You Babe - UB40 & Chrissie Hynde Something for me and the missus to get cozy with....
  14. sorry couldn't make it, sounded interesting...been to the dumps in my off-road days and that soft mine dump sand was a disaster, so fine and getting everywhere and quickly turning to grinding paste for my off road. how does your MTB fair? im guessing good maintenance before and a PROPER clean and lube STRAIGHT after a ride ??? Would be keen to do a ride, probably early June if you go again, this sat doing Modderfontein then week thereafter is Nissan Trailseeker Cullinan
  15. There is Benoni CC as mentioned by TK which is a great singel track and it's gaining popularity fast. Also a track at Ebotse Golf Estate which is a lot simpler. Then also Modderfontein in Edenvale area. That has something for everyone.
  16. For this event, NISSAN TrailSeeker #1 Diamond Rush, would it be ill advised to run tubes (with slime) ? I still have the standard MAXXIS tyres with my Silverback Sola 3 and have not yet converted to tubeliss. Intend doing so when i need to replace the tyres? Any advice on tyre pressures to run for the race?
  17. Well i did modderfontein yesterday. I was on the red route until 25km then finished off on the yellow. None of the technical stuff was too difficult and ran everything. In total i did 36km at average speed of 14.9km/hr so i was pretty happy. Hills at the end definately got me, ran out of water too which wasnt very clever. At the end, my wrists and lower back were feeling it...but all in all stoked...looking forward to getting the full red route done thanks for your advice...i might try thaba trails in a month or two...!!
  18. hey Wez, yeah I am...at the moment i cycle to Benoni CC to do the loop there and then cycle back home....doing modderfontein tmrw and im like a kid at christmas...so excited and stoked...getting into it nicely now. Big Red Barn? Where's that...?
  19. Appreciate that River Rat...doing modderfontein red tmrw...will see how i go...then on 24 may (week before nissan trailseeker cullinan) doing 50k loop around harties, starting at the home of the chicken pie??? mate says that its a bit of technical stuff so im assuming a good check for what i could expect... yeah i hear you about the twisting grips LOL...picked a line the other day and then expected something to happen but then nothing...forgot i had to pedal...such a dumbass
  20. Doing the 40k straight off the bat...never done a MTB race before and ive 120km under my belt at the moment. Started an intense training this week to get ready....should i be worried? (have done plenty of rocky off-road motorbike in kzn before)
