  1. I still don’t understand it, but daily I am between 45 and 70 which I think is good. When I have a strenuous workout I hit around 150ms, but then it drops during the day.
  2. Yes I have and all my claims were fairly treated and within reason.
  3. Is your mechanic certified or qualified to do “0” level servicing or repairs on Shimano components? If yes, by all means I apologize, but if not, then you have no leg to stand on. Nevertheless, get replacement derailleurs, ride your bike and enjoy it. I honestly hope you get it sorted.
  4. I sat down with my insurance, we looked at new, what I spend and reach a middle ground that both parties agreed to and the premium was based accordingly. Also, every 6 months I go through all my policies and make adjustments as needed. That’s just me though.
  5. And, why not send the seller this link so he can defend himself or tell his side of the story. 3 sides, yours, his and the truth.
  6. The housing was cracked, maybe he overlooked it, honest mistake. You mentioned the bike was working 100%? Your mechy opened the RD and now it’s broken?? I think you just need to do some minor adjustments as my brand new di2 also made weird noises when I did the first installation, but after adjustments, flawless. Also, you agreed on a value, it’s unethical to expect new parts, it’s like buying a secondhand bike and insuring it for latest replacement value, not cool. The seller has offered to assist you and I think is more then reasonable. The bike work when you road it, the bike worked when he road it. What if something happened to the bike while it was in your care as it was not working when you road it again? Also, di2 don’t allow cross chaining. Honestly bud, I’m with the seller on this one. Three days later and now the bike is not riding at all?? Be happy he is willing to assist you. Improvise and swap derailleurs, use the bike and keep your eyes on the classifieds. He gave you a cracked FD and you broke his RD so technically, you squared. Lastly, get a new Mechy!
  7. I took the time to check this post again and my findings are as follow: 1. You received the bike the 13th, a Wednesday and assembled it, plugged in Di2 and charged it, in my experience, 1,5 hours to full charge. 2. You then went for a ride on the 16th and not the 15th and found out the bike is not functional. If I paid 60K for a bike, even if I complete a build, I fully check, test, tune, align etc the moment it’s completed and take a quick spin to make sure all is sorted. The bike was in your possession from Wednesday to Saturday, what if someone else damage/ dropped the bike without your knowledge? That someone else could be you too. Personally, if I sell you an item, I insist that you inspect/ test the moment you receive it, we complete the ratings and the deal is concluded. Fix the bike yourself, agree to a partial refund, swap derailleurs from your TT bike as you can’t use both at the same time and move forward. I think it’s a bit harsh to return 3 days later and request a full refund as it’s his word against yours. Also, let’s not forget your mechy taking things apart. You should’ve taken it to your mechy the day you received it.
  8. I would like to know too. I am anywhere between 70 - 100 and my wife 20 - 30. If I do the breathing app on the apple watch I get the high readings. If I take the average of my day, between 50 - 70.
  9. I went through the logs on my Apple Watch and the time I think I had the VID, my HRV was as low as 22mS and averaging around 35 for 5 - 7 days. My average for today is 72 and given my age, above 60 is great.I will check the wife’s later as she uses the watch as a daily time telling device so it should be more accurate vat mine that is used to track running, sleeping etc.
  10. I think I’m back to my normal fitness level. This was my first run after a while at roughly 4kgs heavier. For now I just keep my eye on my RHR which fluctuates between 41-45 given the level off fatigue due to training.
  11. That needs to happen as soon as possible. I believe that you were given the option to source your own at a reasonable price? Like for like? Check merlin or chain reaction, maybe you can get a great deal on new.
  12. Point taken, personally, I hope your mech did not damage anything because I believe that if I sell you something and you not happy, return it in the way you found it and I will gladly refund you. I still vote for the new derailleurs though.
  13. Lastly, how sure are you the di2 is setup correctly wrt shift modes, indexing etc? The reason I ask this is because mine made weird noises and movements too.
  14. Get a second opinion, he will do what is best for his business. Try the rear derailleur on a different bike and see what happens. I am yet to meet a trusted bike mech, I only trust myself.
  15. If you like the bike, if you feel like you've gotten a good deal, take the replacement derailleurs and move on. I would suggest installing a bluetooth unit so you can monitor battery levels. I have just upgraded to di2 and it's awesome if setup correctly. Please keep in mind, even new components fail. The seller offered to assist you which is a pretty good deal. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face.
  16. That’s on the treadmill. On the other picture you’ll see it’s 78.
  17. Attached are some before and after pics. Huge difference in power, distance and intensity. Something was definitely not right, but all is well now. No symptoms at all, just elevated heart rate. The 1 ride was at roughly 170 strava watts vs 130, but a huge difference is in heart rate.
  18. I have not been tested, had no symptoms, maybe a runny nose occasionally coupled with a cough, basically a post nasal drip. Was in good shape end of October and then involved in a cycling accident. Was then off the bike for roughly 3 weeks and tried running which was an epic fail. I changed allergy medication from alleyway to allergex. Could easily do a 5km with average rate of 145-150BPM @ 5:45 km/h pace. Back to the first run second week in November, not even 1km in and 180BPM. Decided to run/ walk/ run the rest of the way averaging 140BPM, following runs the same. First ride back on the bike, the same, extremely high heart rate. Eased myself back into it and dropped the allergex and returned to allerway. Strangely though, previously I could max hit 175BPM and feel like I’m dying, but now all seems okay and I can push to 181BPM. I don’t know what was the cause, I’m just happy to be back on the road of fitness.
  19. And she’s finally completed..
  20. I’m leaving from Caledon Spa to Hermanus. Hopefully all will go well as I’m planning to do it on Tuesday and Wednesday. Round of golf tomorrow.
  21. The hemel en aarde road from Caledon to Hermanus, is it a tar road? Safe to cycle alone? Looking at the map it seems like the most sensible route, Hermanus and back.
  22. Best R4000 you'll spend
  23. I made my own. Got small quarter sockets and cut up a few old Allen keys, fit and some pratley steel, works like a bomb. Got a nice special and a park tool set, but half drive, need to get a quarter to half drive converter.
  24. Take a park stand, there’s park tool extremely expensive vs R300 cheapie, if used and stored correctly, it will last a lifetime. I’ve had mine for nearly four your, built multiple bikes, use it all the time and it still looks brand new. If you develop a passion for something, you’ll automatically upgrade without informing the government. Attached is my first torque and my current wrench. Honestly, I’ve never had an issue with the first 1, it’s all about being ballpark.
  25. I work with test equipment. Even if that wrench is out of cal, 20% would be 6Nm if the torque is meant to be 5Nm. Carbon can take a lot more, OEM recommend a torque setting to avoid damaging equipment. I doubt 5Nm will end up at 20Nm. The most important part of a torque wrench is to make sure all bolt are tightened evenly. Also, I doubt a bicycle shop sends there torque wrench for a annual calibration.
