  1. Yes, fits on 9100 and R8000 SS, not GS.
  2. Only downside is running two power links as it’s a brand new chain that was sized for my old pulley, needed four additional links and I don’t see anything wrong with 2 power links for the next 3 - 4000kms.
  3. Will try it out tomorrow, but it looks absolutely stunning!!
  4. Was tempted by that one too. When I checked for the add it was gone, and shortly after, this came my way.
  5. Your son's bike that needs the suspension parts or just have a go at the freehub yourself.
  6. Why not fit a different wheel and your wife should be able to ride for the time being. It seems like something is wrong with your freehub, maybe just requires a service. R3 000 for parts seems a bit excessive.
  7. Post like this make me want to open a bike shop. The current market requires customer and quality service. From my experience, there's a huge lack of both #manifestating Went to a shop the other day for brake cables for a road bike I was working on, only to get home and see they gave me mountain bike cables. Luckily I had spare cables, will exchange it next time I'm there.
  8. Bling bling!
  9. Bling bling!
  10. I too do most of my riding alone. What I've learnt is to stick to popular routes like Plumstead to Jubilee, maybe Blackhill to Chappies and back home. Also, I do not leave the house before 7, a lot more cyclist on the road by then. It's the early morning starts that are dangerous, even if you in a group because the group eventually break into smaller groups leaving someone exposed. A club ride would be awesome if they will stick to the slowest person's pace, but not everyone has the patience for that. If there is anyone in the Plumstead area looking for a weekend cycle buddy doing for the scenery and not Strava pbs, give me a shout.
  11. If you can afford it, why not. Thankfully my little one cares more about color schemes vs brand. She will most likely cover up the branding to suite her style ???? washed the bike one day and came across my new logo ????????‍♂️
  12. And she’s finally done. Will hopefully take my maiden spin on Saturday.
  13. Maybe try foam rollers, especially your itb. Before and after rides and fuel up on electrolytes even on off days.
  14. Maybe your fitment is right and you were wrong the rest of the time you spent on the bike. It will take time to get use to the new fit. Maybe your fit could wrong too. Also, sleep is extremely important as cramping can be cause by muscle fatigue. If that is in order, start looking at supplements. What exactly is cramping? Keep in mind, dehydration is very important, by the time you thirsty, it’s too late.
  15. Proper bike fit would be a good start.
  16. Dropped the pressure to 6 front and 6.5 rear. Took a quick spin, road feel is definitely softer
  17. I I honestly don’t have an answer for you. I was thinking 5,5 front and 6,5 rear, will see if I feel any difference.
  18. I weigh around 72kg, I ride both (25mm) gp range and gatorskin at 8 bar. Like they mentioned, a 10 W penalty is a 10 W penalty. For commuting and training rides, the gatorskins are definitely better.. special occasions I’ll pop on the Veloflex and WOW! Everything just feels so much better, but the constant thought of puncturing is exhausting. Will most likely go for the 5000 the day I can get it at a reasonable price + tubilitos, till then, gatorskins will have to do.
  19. If I do decide to do it, definitely a fun ride. The fact that there will be no after party kinda sucks. Collect your medal and leave is a big turn off.
  20. It might not be accurate, but it’s a calculated diet which someone like myself don’t have.
  21. Also keep in mind, we are not pro athletes and don’t have the support they do. You mentioned a 200km solo ride, interesting fact, a tour rider consumes roughly 7000 calories on the bike on a stage race. Me on the other hand, 2 bottles of electrolytes, few gels, few bars and a big meal when I’m done, but not near 7000. If you really keen on taking it to the next level, go see all the necessary specialists and follow their plans. Again, this is a hobby that if taken to seriously, will definitely shorten your lifespan. I’m telling you this from experience as I know how it feels when looking at your bike is painful.
  22. I had a similar situation as yours and the main factor was stress. Between work, colic baby and high intensity exercise my body was stuck in a cycle of constantly producing cortisol. It got to a point where sleeping became an issue which affected recovery. I took some time off, only did occasional easy rides, focused on getting my sleeping pattern back and dealing with stress. It took a while for everything to get back to normal, but what I've learnt, there is no reason to push the body to the point of no return as cycling is merely a hobby and if taken to far, more harm vs good. Also, try to incorporate different kinds of training into your plan like weight and running etc.
  23. Couldn’t wait any longer. Nearly there, just waiting for the seatpost to arrive, tuck the battery and fit the saddle.
  24. My bad, just saw it’s a 8 yearly post.
