  9. Hi all. Has anyone here run in the hoka carbon x ? I had the hoka clifton 4 and loved them, am considering the carbon X. I am an average middle of the pack runner and i am afraid they might be overkill for a old ballie like me. Any comments will be welcomed.
  10. http://www.pro-lite.net/road-wheels/bracciano-a42w I have a set of these for sale. Purchased them from chain reaction cycles. did 3 rides on them and found that they were too wide for my frame. They are 10 and 11 speed compatible and come with the 10 speed spacer. PS....I have the CKT 589 bike and the rear triangle is very narrow hence them fitting too snug to the frame. I will let them go for R2 500. I paid R 5000 with import taxes etc. Send me a pm if you would like more info
  11. I ordered from crc twice over the last 3 weeks and both items arrived at my front door within 5 days. I have no reason to complain. Heck, some of my local purchases take longer than that.

I was contemplating doing the 106km ( Done it a few times ) however when i saw what the weather conditions were predicting , i downgraded to the 65km. I knew i would have struggled on the 106km route, hence my downgrade ( I know my limits ) I loved the 65km route and when i finished i was not dissapointed that i did not do the longer ride. Quite a few of my younger colleagues ( I am over 50 years old and they are all early 30s ) did the longer route and of the 5 of them only 2 managed to finish.
  13. i had the propel, sold it as i was tempted by another carbon mistress. Needless to say i am going back to my first love. Absolutely loved the propel.
  14. I did the FNB city surfing 10k in Durban yesterday, what a phenomenal event. with over 10 000 runners the organization was incredible and on point. I started in B batch and the batches went up to E . Now comes the story.... When we were about 1km into the run, latecomers from the lower batches who were still walking to the start were just entering the race from the sidewalk. I commented to one of the runners with me that it is unfair, his response was , check the results tomorrow and see how many show as `DID NOT START`, lo and behold there are about 10 or more pages of them.
  15. The brooks glycerine is a very comfortable and capable shoe. They are also sold at sportsmans warehouse.

Where are you guys staying the night before ?
  17. I had the exact same experience. I was selling my wife`s dual suss bike ( Fairly top end bike ) and advertised it for a reasonably low price as I was wanting a quick sale. Got a call from a chap begging me for the bike at a lower price as it is for his daughter who is looking to upgrade her bike as she is a good competitor and wanted to race more seriously. My softness got the better of me and I let it go for a song. Needless to say it was advertised on the hub a few days later at R 11 000 more that the buyer paid. PS......This happened about 2 years ago.
