  1. pfft! Who reads the pamphlet when they buy something?
  2. I weigh 95kg, so would get a ZTR Crest front rim and Arch rear rim built on Hope Pro II Evo Hubs with DT Competition spokes and brass nipples. It would be about R5500.00 for the set (which is a little more than a set Chris King hubs...). Google and you will see that Hope is quite well regarded & priced. Chris King may be considered the best by some, but its unanimous that they are expensive. The stock ZTR Crest wheelset (ZTR hubs & rims) has a weight limit of 190lb (86kg). I would imagine that the same rims on good hubs with good spokes, brass nipples and a really good builder will be stronger than that. And definitely Epic proof. Especially for someone of your weight.
  3. If you used the Specialized or Syntace stem on the 1 1/4 steerer, you take out the spacer, so that loss of stiffness isnt an issue. Pro is supposed to be releasing theirs at some stage, as are Ritchey. But they havent yet... Syntace F119 - http://www.syntace.com/index.cfm?pid=3&pk=1143 Specialized Pro-Set - http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bc/SBCEqSection.jsp?sid=EquipComponentsRoadStems&eid=5135&menuItemId=9305 There is a thread about it here: http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=64725
  4. Yupp, they did it to the road bikes It doesn't seem that many manufactureres have followed suit. Ritchey supplies Canyon with theirs, but they aren't available to the public. (There is a hot trade on Ebay in Europe) Specialized has one, but its meant to have a spacer that can be rotated to adjust the angle and I think Syntace has one. I don't think any of these are available here, so its a major PITA to change your stem.
  5. Interesting that they have switched to RockShox (rear) and OverDrive 2 1-1/4 to 1-1/2in tapered steerer. And they seem to have phased out Shimano
  6. @ 72kg, you could probably get away with ZTR Crest rims (the wheelset has an 85kg weight limit, I think) Hope Pro II Evo hubs would be a lot cheaper than the Chris Kings A Sram X0 groupset falls between XTR and XT price wise and would be much closer to XTR in weight

    lego

I grew up with a huge box of Lego and then when my folks downscaled, it all got chucked out. Since my boy was born 5 years ago, I have bought black bags full. Some of it is even for him...
  8. So many more results since the last upload and seeding run? So many more that it crashes the system? Perhaps PPA needs some more computing power
  9. There is usually a truck that goes from Underberg School to Scottburgh. You can chuck your bike bag/box and suitcase/togbag on there for collection at the finish. When you get your black box on the afternoon you arrive, pack it and take the exess bagage to the truck. I think it leaves before the riders start the next day. Get get all your admin done so that that you can find your mates and drink beer.
  10. Why would the latest results file be particularly bigger than any previous one?

  13. I am trying to work out the details for a (fantasy) build 142x12 rear axle Tapered head tube, but 1/2 pressfit and 1/2 drop in - what headset to use? It would be logical to use a tapered steerer fork with 15QR drop out - Fox 29 120mm ? Direct mount front mech What diameter seat post? 30.9mm? Post mount rear brake ?
