  2. and that makes 4 addicts then... welcome! its nice to have company here...
  3. [ I was the one wearing junior cycle lab jacket taking photos. No one wears their hubbers wrist band any more haha not this hubber! I have not taken it off since I got it, no matter where I go: cycling, informal functions, formal functions, school meetings... that hubbers band is so part of the wardrobe!! and has special meaning to me! bobbie2008-01-21 04:10:57
  4. you needed a sense of humour where you went?
  5. nah, scotty. good guess though. but it was sunday. i took a much needed break this weekend! love working in the shop, but i am trying to get away one weekend every month this year. hope you took your feather boa with...
  6. mmmm sounds like an excuse to me... am sure Andrewbell and i could organise you a set of wheels to join us on an early morning ride........ (and as long as i am there you at least know you wont get lost...)
  7. lilac for me thanks......
  8. Would be even better if the local bike shops have some in stock too - or, when you walk in, not to just sell you whatever is on the floor because you're obviously an ignoramus to them, but to actually show you the variety of options available. If that means that a bike needs to be ordered, than so be it... I had not heard of a "ladies specific bike" until at least 6 months after getting my current baby as a birthday present! Gorgeous though she is, perhaps a more suitable bike could have been wrapped in ribbons instead of this one, had it not been for the lbs 's out there wanting to make a quick buck out of a "new to the world of racing bikes" customer?
  9. May their fingers turn into fish hooks and they get an itch in a private place... So sorry to hear about your incident..
  10. you forgot to mention the fact that it was sheer hell for some of us every km of the way haha and when we eventually arrived at the finish line, the timers asked us what our race numbers were..... now I ask you.... I could hardly stay on top of my bike at that stage, i could barely remember my own name... i could not even speak, and believe me, thats a miracle!! barely balancing on my bike i managed to straighten out my race number so my partner could read it and shout it to the timers as we struggled along to the safety of our cars.... but to the organisers a big thank you, the marshalls were great, the guys manning the water tables made me laugh even though I was convinced my sense of humour had been left at the start, and they were ready to give us whatever refreshments we required.... today I am enjoying remembering the race - and can proudly say that I made it!! very late in the day but still.....
  11. Andrew BellLicensed85kmMElite5002:06:1983Robert BellLicensed85kmMVET 50-5941303:41:3614625 AndrewBell congratulations! Gosh you did so well. Respect man! But .... what happened to dad? And who was that dude that was riding with him, I could have sworn it was you. Potgieter Trophy was hectic, tough and a huge challenge! Andrew and his dad decided to ride with my boss and the bobster. And boy did we suffer (the boss and I). but like true gentlemen, the Bell men waited for us near the finish so we all finished together.... the results tell a different story... (I bet dad isn't amused) thanks again you two, I could not believe it when I saw you two waiting for us. true sportsmen!
