  5. I Started reading this fred from page 1 sometime in December last year. As of this morning I am on the current page 4038. Some really awsome stuff, some really interesting stuff, some really weird stuff and finally some really f%#cked up stuff in here ! Love It and keep up the good work everybody !
  6. Hi Robin My rims are 23mm internal. I Use a Pike and have a Onza Ibex 2.4 on and there are still lots of clearance. The rear is a Mavic Quest 2.35. Although there's not a lot of clearance the tyre have never touched anywhere and I havn't had any issues with mud or anything else. John
  7. I Have a Paramilitary 2 that was my edc knife for the last two and a half years. S30V is an amazing blade steel. If you take your time and sharpen it decently with decent equipment you will be rewarded with a cutting edge that will last for months if cared for and not abused.
  8. My knife collection expanded recently with some new editions The top one is a Spyderco Native 5. It's the FRN lightweight model with CPM S35VN blade. Middle is a lekke big Opinel Nr.10 Carbon. I Think this knife might just be the perfect tool around a braai. It's size is also somewhat intimidating which means most of the guests stay away from my braaier Bottom one is a Spyderco Parra 3. Standard G10 model with CPM S30V blade. I Like the Parra 3 so much that it has become my new EDC knife.
  9. Haha ! Might not be a bad idea. What I heard from the locals there is that the crime in that region is almost as bad as Jozi
  10. It's the mounting bracket for a WeeRide child seat.
  11. While I was at the south coast only two sad things happened. My Mother in law ended up in Margate Netcare hospital with a dislocated shoulder.......20 min after we arived there. (it wasn't me, stroes nannies ek belowe) This picture was the other.
  12. I Was on holiday in Margate for a couple of days. This was taken close to the main beach in Ramsgate direction.
  13. Wat as jy poep terwyl jy fiets ry ?
  14. Don't know if I'm allowed to ask this question with my low post count......... But where is Rouxtjie ???
  15. Kalbo, Csixx and Rapide are very good local products. Just make sure you are buying the right one to fit your crank. M8000 has a 96mm asymmetrical bcd. (not the common 104)
  16. M8000 crank will work without spacing the chainring. The hub mounting position is spaced 5mm outward in the swingarm (+5 chainline) and that's why the rim needs to be dished 5mm inward. Evobikes sell's Absolute black oval chainrings specifically for M8000, think they got 32 and 34 in stock at the moment. That +5 chainline is a clever trick from Pat, wish he thought of that when he was designing the OneTen.
  17. I Haven't seen anything yet but are curious as hell ! I Also thought they must be racing with Stage's butt no idea of colour scheme.
  18. I Think Warren's gonna enjoy the Epic this year.....K@k route and all !
  19. Hi Baracuda. I'm running a complete XT M8000 1x11 groupset on my oneten. XT shifter works 100% and no need for a XTR unless you have some extra cash for bling. I Use a 32 chainring and a 11-42 cassette. Works fine for me and my conditions but if you stay and ride in the western cape or kzn you'll maybe want to go with a 11-46 at the back. Only trouble I had was getting the chain line right. Go back to page 205. I Explained my problem and solution with pictures in a couple of posts. Its my personal opinion but I still think that XT gives the best performance and durability for the price you pay.
  20. I Visited Botshobello this weekend, its about 20km's outside Middelburg. First I stopped to get some gas. Second I rode over the mountain. Third I had a dice in town. Fourth I went to Church.
  21. Awsome !!! Have you tried whipping your Stage like that yet ?
  22. Yesterday I did a 30km 2h00m recovery/exploring ride. I'll rather not mention the location details but it makes some very nice pictures.
  23. Saturday morning I rode a 70km loop known to Middelburg locals as "The Bruizer". The route takes you over a couple of farms, over this farm/dirtroad bridge across the N4 (about 20km's outside town) and back to town with a railway service road. Travel time was 3h48m with about 500m of elevation gain.
  24. Just a small update. My first ride with my new OneTen was on 9 August. I Have since recorded 1040km's with zero problems or hickups. Awsome bike ! Dispite not being the lightest ride at 13.6kg's I have done a couple of 65-70km rides fairly easy with my avg level of fitness. I Started out with with a 34t chainring but suffered a litle on the realy steep and long climbs. Changed it to a 32t (11-42 cassette) and now ride anywhere no worries. Only thing I am considdering to change is the wheels. The Crossmax XL's are verry tough and actually intended for enduro racing. Thinking of buying or building a light XC style wheelset for most of the gravel grinding and keeping the XL's on standby for when I go somewhere more knarly ! Other than that......I love this bike ! Verry nice and relaxed riding position. Verry comfortable ride, the RS Pike eats up anything you throw at it and the Shimano XT M8000 (1x11) is flawless. Not the cheapest bike to build but after a couple of rides and realising the potensial of the bike, memories of the price tag soon fade away.
  25. My OneTen weighs in at 13.6kg's. I Don't have a dropper on it, the weigt penalty come's from my wheel setup. I Use Mavic Crossmax XL wheels with a Crossmax Quest 2.35 on the rear and a Onza Ibex 2.4 on the front. I Prefer the larger volume tyres for two reasons. First, a lot of my riding is in sandy areas and second, I weigh 100kg's and the ride is super cumfy with 20psi pressure. They are also bomb proof so I don't mind the little extra weight.
