  1. My annual holiday is usually somewhere on the South Coast. Every year I make an effort to go check on Burry's bike. I'll spend 10 or 15 minutes there, have a beer and shed a tear. And then I'm off till next year.
  2. I Own a 1050 Folding Field that is in brand new condition. It belonged to my Dad. I'm not exactly sure about it's age but it must be from somewhere in the 80's because I was born in '81 and can remember him having this knife when I was a laaitie. This knife has never been carried or used.
  3. Awesome The BBS exclusive ?

Those were decent guns indeed. Two of my friends are still using their Musgrave .308's with RSA single shot actions for Bisley. Very accurate rifle's.

And the Z88 that was locally made is an exact copy of the 92FS. I Have also read somewhere that the experts reckon the Z88 is a better firearm than the 92 because apparently SA had access to better quality steel and aluminium to manufacture it.

Not for sport. I Don't do any competitive shooting. Mainly for hunting (and the bonus is that it's also well suited for home/self defence ).

I Bought this shotgun a month ago. It's a Beretta 1301 Comp. I've almost got the documentation together and should be handing my license application sometime next week. I'm pretty excited about this one and waiting for the licence to get approved is going to be torture. I Haven't shot this one yet but a friend of mine has the same gun and I have shot his a couple of times and it's freaking awesome.
  8. It's good stuff but I would say it's over priced for what you get when you start comparing it with some other steels. I Would say that it performs slightly better than S110V for my cutting tasks. I Like tool steel. I Like the way it sharpens and behaves and I like the corrosion/patina it gets from use. I Was curious to try it and I'm not disappointed but I don't think it's worth spending an extra R600 for this over the S110V model. In fact for R1k less I think the S30V model is the best value for money.
  9. I Have a couple more at home. The pink one is my daughters knife and was only borrowed for the photo
  10. A slightly modified No.8 that live's on my desk and sees daily use.
  11. Looking for some advice please. The last game console I bought was the original big PS2 sometime in the early 2000's. I've actually still got it but it hasn't been used for I don't know how many years. I Want to buy a new console but I've got no idea what to get. I've also got a five year old daughter that would probably be playing with it. I Mostly played car racing and fighting games back in the day. Never played any shooting games but from what I'm seeing here there are some good ones out there and I will probably try some of them eventually. Any suggestions ? Thanks.
  12. These are from a Banshee. The previous set I did was about two years ago and they were for a guy who was rebuilding an RD's engine.
  13. This brought a huge grin onto my face and brought back some wicked memories ! It's been a couple of years since I've last had the honor of reconditioning a set of these "Bad Boys" ! I Don't know if I was hallucinating but I'm pretty sure I smelled Castrol TTS while working with these

To do a proper load development you are going to need time and money and some decent equipment. I Don't mind sharing my formula but keep in mind that this is what I have found works best on my rifle. I Went through about 15 to 20 test loads using bullets from Sierra, Nosler and Barnes. My .270 is a Steyr Mannlicher Classic. Norma cases. CCI 250 Large Rifle Magnum Primers. 53.4 grains Somchem S365 propellant. 130 grain Nosler Partition bullets. 82.85 mm cartridge length. This formula gives me consistent speeds of 2980 feet per second through the Chrony and 3 shot groupings on a R5 coin. The picture shows my reloaded cartridge on the right compared to Factory PMP ProAmm 130 grain.
  15. I Decided to finally get on the Maxamet party bus. Will be carrying and using this one exclusively for the next couple of weeks to see if the steel lives up to the hype.
  16. Thanks Eddy I Didn't know about this one. It's good, I watched three episodes already.

It is more cost effective to reload if you are shooting a lot. R2.20 a round is not bad for 45 ACP. My 9mm P reloads comes out to R2.35 a round using decent FMJ's. (last time I did the maths)

Thanks. That was at 15 meters. That was 300 rounds of mixed ammo, lots of different weights and loads. I Was also shooting quite fast and double tapping a lot to get the cases cleared for reloading. I Can get some better groupings when using decent factory or my own reloaded ammo.

    Who remembers?

This was my Ouma's radio that was playing in her kitchen from when I can remember sometime in the 80's when I was a laaitie. Don't know how old it actually is but it is still in mint and 100% working condition
  25. An easy 50km recovery ride (and a Widhoek Draught at Big Buddies BBQ on my way home ).
