  1. Personal preference but I find Deluxe Coffee Works and The Coffee Company to be more in line with my tastes. But that is what I love about Cape Town in that we are spoiled for choice with quality coffee
  2. He has posted a legitimate question with his observation of the area and its important for us to understand why this accident happened to try minimise future similar incidents.
  3. Mod Note: Guys, 2 pages and already 2 posts moderated for swearing. Regardless of the topic and your emotions, its still not allowed and detracts from any value this thread may bring.
  4. Don't wait for the kids, go buy some lego.
  5. +1 Local hairsalons will gladly contact the correct people to donate & collect the hair. Depending on the grade & length of the hair, it will either find its way into wigs for cancer patients or into training schools for hair stylists.
  6. WATCH OUT. I WILL SEND YOUR CAR REG TO THAT CLUB
  7. As usual it takes only a few individuals to tarnish the image of an entire community. For me the Argus is a sad time of the year as it brings out the most unwanted cyclists into public view. The best part about next week is that most of these guys crawl back under their rocks for the next 11 months.
  8. Just walk down to the nearest train station or taxi rank on a Saturday afternoon and you will find hundreds of bottles. I'm also going to be doing a variant of this and since we seldom drink fizzie cold drink, I had to find an alternate source. I live next door to a train station and always a dozen or so bottles lying around.
  9. The monkey on the left is 3 yrs old, the dog on the right is "Brownie". We got her at the shelter August last year. Nobody wanted her and she was there for over 6 months. It was so long that not even the shelter owner can remember (she felt Brownie did not deserve to be put down). We could not have asked for a better dog and she is perfect in every way. It amazes me that a year ago nobody was interested in her, now everybody loves her and a few people have asked for me to keep them in mind if we need to get rid of her (fat chance).
  10. I'm hearing everybody go on about how good the tomato harvest is this season.
  11. Harvested my first green pepper today and my wife could not believe the amazing smell of it when I cut it open. I use to get a fresh supply direct from a farmer in the 90's and I have not really eaten green peppers since then. Having it on my lunch today which is a steak sandwich with swiss chard from my garden, cherry tomatoes from my garden, the green pepper from my garden, the parsley from my garden .... and loving it
  12. Nice but you need to triple up on everything. Never understood why Jamie Oliver use to get all excited about coriander when doing food on the coals till I started using fresh coriander from my garden. I do the brush with coriander, pull some leaves off & sprinkle over chicken then throw the stems into the coals to smoke the chicken. Fresh herbs has changed how we eat at home for the better. I cannot eat store bought chives or lettuce anymore.
  13. My next batch will also be in tyres.
  14. I keep mine outside.
  15. Bummer, with this extreme heat today (was 38C in Somerset West), my lettuce plants just about all got nuked. I've lost 80% of them. My spinach also took a big knock but I managed to cover them with shade cloth in time. Will see by end of week how much of my garden has survived. I'm redoing it this winter and will include shade cloth netting in the new setup.
  16. So true. My son and I have been having a great time the last two weeks with small woodworking projects. Has cost me R5 in nails and scrap wood lying around. Somethings money could never buy.
  17. River of Blue in Jhb right now
  18. She told Justin to giver her ten inches and make it hurt .... so he slapped her twice
  19. My twitter feed this morning:
  20. Instead of toilet paper rolls, one could also use newspaper for fast growers like radish. But for the slow guys like lettuce and tomato the toilet rolls would be better as by the time you need to transplant them the paper would have started to fall apart by then: http://www.violetmoo...-seedling-pots/
  21. And thats how Fido ended up in space kids.
  22. This what happens when you involve roads, traffic cops and Americans
  23. Very high on that road
  24. "This guy, what is he doing!"
