  3. Lol ... My dad is an experienced trucker and struggles to park it.
  4. My dad was passing or house on Saturday and have my son a lift back to the truck depot. One of the largest road trucks in South Africa. When my dad was working on the States his truck was smaller than this one. My son still cannot keep quiet about it. Not ev er day you get ride in a big kickass red truck.
  5. After I saw the movie Bang-Bang Club, that photo has become more powerful
  6. Your never too old, my Dad went to go work in the States in his mid 50's for a couple of years and he loved it.
  7. +1000 We did something like that the other day with my sons favourite toy. He was totally amazed when he woke up and saw his toy had gotten up to mischief. Kids have never changed
  8. I hate to admit it but I've been buying my 7yr old son the fake-legos this year. He enjoys the bionic range but being still young, he is not very good at keeping all the pieces. So we started to buy him the cheaper fake ones and do admit that the quality is very good. For half the price of the Marvel lego figures, I was able to buy him 3 fake ones: Iron Man; Captain America; Hulk When he is older and more responsible, I will return to buying real legos.
  9. Just like all other teenagers, Kim had a dream to become the world's biggest superstar. Having watched Miley Cyrus grow up in the Hannah Montana character, Kim always believed she had what it took to become world famous. Her passion was brought through in her dancing, ballet, singing and drama eisteddfods -- in which she excelled in practically all of them. Upon being diagnosed with cancer at the end of 2010, Kim's brother Justin called up a school-friend -- Sasha Righini of The Plastics -- and asked him to allow Kim to enter their studio and record any pop song. This idea was created by the need to inspire Kim to fight the disease she had just been diagnosed with and has also been thought that such excitement would keep Kim's spirits alive. Upon entering the studio with famous South African rock band, The Plastics, Kim immediately had her heart set on recording her very own single. It wasn't long until Pascal Righini -- The Plastics lead singer -- was writing a song for Kim. Months had passed and Kim was finally told that her song was ready for recording. Battling to walk, and barely able to speak to anyone, she made her way to the studio where she was greeted by the entire band from guitarist to drummer to singer to manager. A day before departing for her treatment in South Korea, Kim was asked to come back to the studio one last time to hopefully record the end of her single. Not able to leave her wheelchair, she got helped into the studio and took her place alongside the microphone. She stood on her own two feet, all alone, and reached every single high note required to make this song the special, dramatic and amazing song it is today. What she didn't know though; two weeks later she would pass on and become an angel; overlooking her family, friends and strangers who would begin listening to this song with tears in their eyes -- but one thing is for sure, and she knew it. When the world hears her song, she'll be the super star she always dreamed of becoming.
  10. Nice to see I'm not alone in this world ... I've finally seen someone more damaged than me. Loved this video and love the message.
  11. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
  12. I guess you don't know any real lesbians. Come to Strand and you will change your attitude. The only hot ones I know (and I know a couple) are still in the closet.
  13. I'm on study leave till Friday so will be interesting to see if they last till then.
  14. Bikes where still there at 16:20 when I caught my bus (opposite the statues). Guess Cape Town is a real slaapstad even for bike criminals
  15. Its a local artist who love to put a scarf on old van Riebeeck in winter and occasionally some socks as well. We have a famous Bat SImpson statute that she put beanies on. Whats this for? Well because she can and its Cape Town.
  16. This is currently in Cape Town, was a nice surprise:
  17. I have Ninjago keyring and my son has the Lego Construction Man torch. The torch is great and he loves it, need to get his sister one now as well. We actually use them both a lot around the house.
  18. We don't buy bikes
  19. Same here, I got all cleithrophobic watching him do this.
  20. Every guy in the world grabbed his nackers when he saw this scene. That movie is an all time favourite
  21. A couple of primary schools in my area use to take part in this. I think its awesome. I hope my son gets to also take part when he is older. I've got a Mindstorm NXT at home and its been our father-son project to build one robot at a time. He loves it and he is only 6. I cannot wait to teach him how to program it as well.
  22. +1 Now I got an urge to watch Forrest Gump this weekend. I know this song was not in the movie but it somehow reminds me of Forrest
  23. And no, Deni is not a suburb of Parrow:
  24. Been buying from Takealot for years. A little tip if you want to get your goods delivered quicker to you. If they allow COD (and the amount is reasonable), then opt for that. I've ordered COD at 11h30 and had it on my desk by 14h00
