  1. Dude, your starting a religious thread here and certain hubbers are going to be hitting that report button hard than a Nooit-4-Nooit Komeptisie But back to the religious topic, I'm converted to wet lube and use Finish Line (well its all I have at home right now). What I've learn't with wet lube is to keep the chain clean. Since I got a chain cleaning gadget, its such a breeze.
  2. N.M.P - but if there was a race in the vivinity I would alert them (if they cared). I'm no hero and its not my fault if the other bike is not insured. Its not about letting crime get the upper hand, its just my life is not worth trying to be the hero.
  3. Arrggghhhh ... I picked up this year. I'm now 97kg and was 95kg end of last month. Going to have to work really hard it at now.
  4. Yeah, get real guys and convert to Camelbaks - Water Bottles are only used for target practice against taxis
  5. I was going to wash my bike today, but ended up having a picnic with the wife and kids. Next week maybe, buts what I always say. But my neighbour washes his bike every week (and his car too). (We wash our car whenever family arrives and thats about once in 6months).
  6. Well I see the act as an opportunity for legit business to profit from it as not only will the consumer be the winner, but companies that can stay within the law will win hands down. I cannot wait to see how it effects my wifes industry (hair salons) as its an industry where the majority of business need to be regulated.
  7. I'll do it for free if I'm allowed to wear a bikini - serious think oom H posted a pic of me and my buds at the beach
  8. I see its R600 cheaper from Take2 and they throw in free delivery http://more.take2.co.za/moreusa-ibert-safe-t-front-mounted-child-bicycle-seat-b000h4e7eo.html But another hubber who has it was telling me how awesome it is.
  9. Yes, the PC15 price at CWC is excellent, his PC9 well it was an awesome deal 12mths back at R300 (but it was the old range then). The PC15 records Max Heart Rate which at first I believed was a waste but its a feature I'm missing lately. Also your going to sell the PC15 2nd hand for a lot more than the PC9. I would say a PC9 could fetch R250 2nd hand where a PC15 you could get R350 for it (based on sales the last 2 yrs on the Hub).
  10. Well I did pay R300 for my SIGMA PC9 last year --- I would say an entry level HRM should be sub R400 else save the cash and get a Polar.
  11. I second the Sigma from CWC. Mine is now a year old and use every day without fail.
  12. Had a horrible clicking noise last week, then monday it was gone but it I could feel something was not lekker. Came from my old pedals so I ordered new ons from CRC Then this morning I felt extreme float on my pedals (CRC order is still another week away from delivery) ... to my horror I saw it was my crank arm bolt was not tight and the play was on the arm
  13. Our maids son is into cricket and he was asking me what energy drink. I understand his budget constraint and his mom was dreading the weekly expense of Energades and such. Told him about the 1:1 Coke-H20 mix. I remember at school some of the athletic coaches would tell us to drink the mix.
  14. I tend to agree. Back to the basics is what we need. Even the famous AJ Muti mix is just a basic mix - the other guys just pimp it up with gold flakes to charge us a fortune.
  15. While we all agree that CRC are the benchmark of online shopping with awesome prices and a range of goodies to blow your cap while window shopping, not everybody remembers that there are alternatives. I've learnt to check out Take2's US Amazon portal before wanting to buy from CRC, well that is if CWC and Buycycle do not stock it. One particular item that I'm now in the process of getting is a Kryptonite lock for my commuter. The particular one I want from CRC is R329 ex so it comes to a rough R378 without postage. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=47422 Now on Take2, I can get the same item for R377 incl delivery to my office http://more.take2.co.za/moreusa-kryptonite-modulus-1010s-2-cable-pack-10mm-x-3-5-feet-b002sg7k0w.html Sure with Take2 there is that 18 day wait but then again normal postage with CRC and our beloved customs would also match that ETA. Needless to say I'm just finalising my basket before I put through the sale on Take2. Oh, and this is not the first time either. Last year I sourced a lovely 4th hand tool from Take2 for a couple of randts less than CRC.
  16. Well since our local vote is anyway a one horse race, I decided to get more involved with "THE" politcal party and had the honour of being on our local electorial colleague last week. At least I got a major say in which politcal brown noser will be my local candidate. (Oom Cassie, it might be your neighbour 5 houses down)
  17. I like design 4 but can we just change we have our hub status in neon yellow on the back - and for us mods we want ours in Orange (OK, its my ego speaking)
  18. Use to have a PlanetX till I damaged the rails , now I got a WTB Dirt Jumper saddle - oh, and I do need to bring up my post-vasectomy testicle infection here as the WTB is softer on the lower male area.
  19. Still remains funny even the 7th time I watch it
  20. Can see dem are City Slickers those
  21. @Foe Fighter: It seems to be the norm in any service industry in the Cape. I use to be in IT Retail and your story is so generic that I heard it countless times. What gets me is that techies believe its their right to "upgrade" your parts. I'm fortunate that in the Helderberg we have awesome mechanics who I personally trust, but I've started to build up my own tool set and except for my new fork, have done everything myself.
  22. Well 2yrs ago they where only doing a few hundred. I was suprised to read that they are only 3-4yrs old
  23. This is sad news. Condolences to the family.
  24. Actually busy doing the checkout now. I got some of those Shimano Platform ones (too much Baileys to recall right now) and love them but they are caput (2nd hand). Just saw the Candy X's on special this evening.
  25. Yeah, CRC is such a rip. They charge R57 for delivery on my pannier and it took 10 days to get to my post office. What a bunch of crooks. Now I want to buy some pedals and they got Crank Brothers Candy X 2009 with postage for a rip-off R216 ex duties. Oh my gosh, I think I would rather go to my LBS and blow R600 by them instead. /sarcasm off
