    Who remembers?

    Birthday party porn ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
  2. I didn't know you were Dutch speaking, Patch?
  3. M'kay, m'kay. I can see that some feathers were ruffled. Y'all have read my posts. Let them stew a bit and let's go from there.
  4. I can understand why that would upset you, but I think there is a critical distinction that perhaps you have not considered. My departure is evidence based and from an ethical standpoint. You and I can go together and I can show you the rain forests slashed for cattle grazing, I can show you the bleached corals and I can show you the pigs screaming for their lives as they're lowered into a gas chamber or have to watch as their brethren get a captive bolt to the head. There are mountains of evidence underpinning my position. This is not something I take lightly. Can you show me God? Can you show me the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit? Can you show me evidence of their existence and divinity? If so, I'll change my position.
  5. I should, I know. [Edit] That being said, my presence was so gracefully requested, I couldn't decline.
  6. Worth a listen: https://youtu.be/Z3u7hXpOm58 I've posted it a page or three back, but for those who missed/skipped it.
  7. How did I miss this?! Going to have to start training the ol' liver again. These Belgians brews quick your arse very quickly.
  8. They're all playing the same game; just different teams.
  9. Like I said, Peta is a very large, but very divisive organisation. They're as unpopular among vegans as they are among meat eaters. They are not representative of the 'vegan norm', if you will. The loudest voices catch the most attention. The Daily Mail isn't going to run a story about 'Cornwall man goes vegan and doesn't shove it in anyone's face'. They're going to run a story about crazy ol' Peta, cause that gets them all those nice clicks.
  10. No organisation operates on thoughts, prayers and well enthusiastic pats on the back. Everyone from Oxfam to your local SPCA needs money to keep the lights on. Not quite sure how fundraising by anti-whalers is a bad thing. Should we then be promoting it or sit with our hands folded whilst whalers decimate whale populations? I can see certain parallels in approaches. Different means objectives, though. There's a bit of psychology behind what you're saying. However, I would have to say that such kind of thinking is a easy way to sit in your comfort zone and not be challenged by new perspectives. When Arrive Alive runs a 'Don't drink and drive' campaign, do you see it and figure '**** that, don't tell me what to do!' or when the SPCA campaigns for people to not set off fireworks during New Year's/Diwali do you also think '**** that, don't tell me what to do!'. Take a minute to understand the message, digest it and then make up your mind. Yes, Peta's methods are often abrasive and confrontational and many don't agree with it and you don't have to, but they are one voice in a sea of millions. Societal changes require facing uncomfortable truths. Would women have voting rights if the suffragettes didn't make a peep, out of fear of upsetting the fragile patriarchal egos of men? Ending the meaningless exploitation of animals is not being campaigned to satisfy someone at Peta's need for virtue signalling, it's being done because the ethics and science show that the current status quo is untenable and is vastly detrimental to human and non-human animals' health and welfare, as well as the environment and future of this planet.
  11. Don’t be too quick judge. The whole campaign was done tongue in cheek. Mainstream media rarely ever want to report on animal exploitation, so PETA launches these types of campaigns with ‘out there’ statements to draw attention. Do I think it’s an effective way to raise awareness? No. PETA is a divisive organisation, among vegans and carnists alike.
  12. Here. Ai. PETA. Their hearts are in the right place. Their methods questionable. Have a look at this speech from Earthling Ed: https://youtu.be/Z3u7hXpOm58 (I’m typing this from my phone, so you’ll probably have to do some copying and pasting ✌????) Peace and plants!

    Who remembers?

How closely do you look at the okes taking a leak?!
  14. Seems to be a lot of buying of animals mentioned on this thread. Adopt, don't shop, folks. SPCAs are absolutely overrun by dogs and cats needing a home, who'll just end up being euthanised if they aren't homed. There are a hell of a lot of backyard breeders, bringing sickly pups and kittens into this world. KUSA membership often times have little bearing on the welfare of the breeding pairs kept by breeders. Also, sterilize or neuter your dogs or cats.

    Who remembers?

Doc Martens now has a pretty extensive vegan range. https://www.drmartens.com/eu/en_eu/c/mens-vegan
  16. Yeah. Some googling tells me I overpronate. My feet are flatter than the earth, so it's pretty difficult to change my foot placement. I think my rolling of my feet also aggravates my right hip joint on long runs. Tapped out at 15km. My brain was starting to leak out of my ears.

  18. I'm a prodigious heel striker and wearing the outer rears of my Saucony's down really quickly. Does changing the heel drop affect the rate at which this wear occur?
  19. Good suggestion. My only little add-on would be to go for the DoubleDown casings. Much, much better puncture protection and the thicker casing allows you to run slightly lower pressures. They're also much better damped than the EXO casings, which can often have a 'woody' feel to them.
  20. Is it 'live action' though if it's animated?
  21. Has The Haunting of Hill House been discussed here? Killer series. If you're a fan of Stephen King type horror (less his more eccentric story elements), you'll love this.
  22. It's for the best. If a family member is sick or in pain, you sort them out.
  23. It's a right of passage for every married man to step into the near fatal 'you sound just like your mother' trap.
  24. Try this next time: "Raak net eers vir my rustig, want jy klink nou nes jou ma!".
