  1. Turns out it is H1N1 virus. Extremely high fever and low blood pressure accompanying the respiratory infection. Have to stay home until 31 July. Shots, anti-viral meds, cough syrup and anti-emetics seem to be helping some
  2. Dunno what it is that I have. No sneezing, no runny nose, no soreness over sinuses. Some kind of virus? Started two days ago with "the runs". Then extreme headache and sore body right down into my bones. Yesterday fever and cold fever. Would get that cold sweaty feeling if standing up for more than 5 minutes. You know, the kind where you don't know if you are going to throw up or pass out? Having trouble staying awake. Throat started getting a bit sore last night. Woke up this morning with a nasty productive cough. Definitely going to see the doc today. ????????
  3. From posts on this thread, it seems as though about 1000 transactions were processed. I'm guessing that most people bought more than one entry per transaction. So, that probably means at least R300 000* for the Tokai trails (*Disclaimer: My own guestimate.)
  4. If I understand correctly, there are no ticket numbers. The number given is a transaction number, so you only get one even if multiple tickets were purchased. Makes things a bit more complicated than a traditional raffle, but I'm sure the organisers will have a system for taking this into account.
  5. Sooooooooo, how much money was raised for the Tokai trails?
  6. Well, it would be fantastic if someone could build us a few mountains in North-West so we can actually have trails You guys are so lucky. Seriously though, and I apologise for the highjack, we should also support Hubbers when the situation warrants. There is no fancy prize, but please would everyone consider contributing to FRAIL's medical expenses. He does good in the community an now he needs our help.
  7. I get your point. However, my matte black Tallboy traveled to races in the SUV instead of on the bike rack due to dust issue. It looks bad when you arrive at a race with a bike that looks like it does not get taken care of.
  8. **Bump** So how is the fundraising going guys? Are you at X, Y or Z?
  9. I for one did also comment on the new colours, but not in any way against this initiative. It is merely very noticeable that last year's colours were nicer. Free customer feedback for Santa Cruz. As for asking about the bike specs, I see no reason why that should be a no-no. Once known, people can start fantasizing about their dream bikes (and buying more tickets!). @ Mr Lee: I think GX is more expensive than XT, so you should have no problem modifying the bike should you win.
  10. Thanks! That clears things up
  11. I believe this has been asked before, but not definatively answered... Question: What is meant by a "standard build kit"? If one is, for example, to look at the Tallboy, each frame option (alu, C and CC) has each own corresponding standard build kits. If CC is indeed up for grabs, its standard build kits are: X01, X01+, XX1 and XX1+. (According to SC website.) Or will a CC frame be built up with a build kit from another frame option making it, in fact, non standard? Apologies for nit-picking, but the information will determine how many tickets I buy and that is probably true for others too.
  12. Yes, current Tallboy colours are hideous imo. (Sorry Rush Sports. I know you only sell 'em.) The gloss black is the better of the two, but will attract dust like crazy.
  13. Me being cheeky: 1× Juliana Joplin CC ("Tallgirl") in 27.5+ guise, XX1, colour = coral. Edit: Medium, please
  14. Any difference between the 2014 and 2015 110? Or is it just the paint job?
  15. Anyone know the max tyre size you can run at the rear of a 110?
  16. Pardon the O/T, but why did Mr Morewood decide to name his bike company "Pyga"? I Googled the word and did not much like what I found in a Wikipedia article about a sea urchin: ""Astropyga" comes from ancient Greek, astro meaning "star" and pyga "anus". "
  17. Is it better than their regular sealant? Regular Joe's did not work for me at all. Also, regular Joe's has really large bits in it, which makes it near impossible to inject through a valve stem.
  18. Glad to hear this Henri Question: Notice any difference with the new frame?
  19. ... ...
  20. Okay, so I Googled the approximate weight of each drivetrain component of the two bikes. By my calculations, and assuming the rigid fork weighs 1kg, the Double will only be about 200g lighter The weight savings of a tubeless conversion on a fatbike is said to be about 500g. That weight you replace again with pedals, bottle cage and computer. Sooo, the Double is going to be a 15kg bike. Yikes.
  21. Silverback site gives the weight of the Single Scoop as 15.24kg, but Double Scoop weight is TBA. Difference with Double Scoop is rigid fork instead of Bluto (~1.8kg) and 2x10 instead of 1x11. So, how much less is the Double Scoop likely to weigh? I'm hoping weight saving of a rigid fork will be more than the "excess weight" caused by 2x10?
  22. That is true, but does a bike have to make sense to be fun?
  23. Single Scoop is the 1x11 with Bluto. Double Scoop is the 2x10. Fatbikes make no sense in SA, but they look like tremendous fun. Can't wait for the Double Scoop!!!
  24. Perhaps you should start a thread dedicated to that topic. There are sure to be others with same problem and there might be those who have had success in getting an OH into MTB'ing. Can't hurt to ask for advice. Oh, wait, this is The Hub....
