  1. I got the Forerunner 235 for Xmas...light, screen easy to read, brilliant battery life and with Discovery discount costs about R3800 new.
  2. Ive done it, really enjoyed it but I am not a fast or experienced runner but if you want my thoughts, I would say for experience strong runners it is a fast route. Really nice run. Just last 3km have a sting.
  3. Brooks on special on onedayonly today peeps if anyone interested.
  4. guys...try getting nailed by menopause then youll know heat..
  5. Thats the right one Barry Thank you...I think at R83 I should get 2! I think my strap will hold for a month, its in torn into the hole part, but nothing a little plaster cant hold together.
  6. Thank you both! Im trying to look on Amazon now but blocked at work so will look a little later when Im home.
  7. Thats so cool...thank you Stretchy. Il go look and whatsapp you.
  8. A little advise please...there is a Dude selling a Fenix 2 in excellent condition here in the classifieds for R1800 and Im keen to buy it to replace my FR25 which has a strap tearing and when I cycle I have to adjust the exercise....however...ive been told that the technology is old and I would be better off just buying a new strap for my FR25 and saving the little extra for a more up to date model..my question is......is the technology really that out of date???
  9. Yippeee...my OMTOM 21km is accepted!!
  10. I dont run Ultra's so am not a good referral source but I do LOVE peanut butter and a great referral source for that, so.... maybe try those yumyum peanut butter sachets?? They tiny and easy to carry.
  11. Does anyone here run in Hoka Speedgoat?? Im so annoyed, my Speedgoats are already tearing at 260km! The supplier says, "oh thats a common problem and they hope they have fixed it with the Torrents".....infuriating. R2000 is a heap of money to pay for shoes that in all likelihood wont survive past 500km. My Asics Trabuco cost me a fraction of that and have done over 1300km and not a tear on them!
  12. Someone needs to give them some competition....need another stunning ultra..
  13. The OMTOM 21km is going to be a complete disaster if they havent mastered this online story. I see the Ultra has till 30th November to pay so as long as entry is in, it is all good.
  14. Talking about great value...the Lynford Family weekend must be the best...R950 accommodation, meals x 6, entry and a jacket! Sat run down day 2 of Sani2C, bail at the river crossing (22km) and get a lift to Josephines bridge (30)km, transported back to Lynford. Sun, 5, 12 or 18 around the Lynford school area. Same as the Umko Adventure (mtb) R4400 per TEAM, accommodation, garment, goody bag, 5 meals and incredible, real mountain biking, not roady mountain biking...
  15. Yoh...ive just checked the costs of Run the Berg...the accommodation is a killer! So think Dumbe itll be...I believe we run up Sollys (Berg n Bush Solly's)...say it isnt so???
  16. We trying to decide between Dumbe or Run the Berg....afraid gets a bit costly to try do both. Have you done Run the Berg??
  17. Little off the Comrades track...but how cool is the video of Meg Mackenzie thats going around facebook on her Golden trail series, makes me wish I was young and free to do adventures like this again!
  18. My husband has the Vivoactive and is touch screen, he loves the watch but I often hear him bitching about the touch screen... Your comment above reminded me about the touch screen problem.
  19. we'll all be watching Stretchy...no pressure
  20. https://www.dcrainmaker.com/product-comparison-calculator?type=watch&ids=51128%2C40807%2C72322%2C77401%2C66324#results Try this link, hope ive done it right..but these would be my choices! I love Tomtom, I know they have left the country but there back up is still great even from overseas.
  21. We were sitting at Bushwillow at 7pm, my husband was waiting to pace one of our friends...I tell you what, its takes some kinda guts to leave that warm spot in rain, mist, mud and dark to continue running. My hat off to the pacers, they may not have done the full 50 or 100, but most of them did phenominal jobs of getting the runners to the next pacer person. I dont think I wouldve happily gone out into the scary dark and rain. I think at the finish when the last couple of runners came in, there was not a dry eye in sight.
  22. Another must do for the KZN peeps...Lynford Country Weekend...day 1 is a run down the day 2 of Sani2Sea...either 20km or 30km. Then day 2 is 15km around the Lynford School area. Entry was R950 and that included Fri supper, Sat x3 meals and Sunday x 2 meals, camping and race garment. We had hectic icy cold rainy weather on Sat, bit of a mud slide down the valley but even that didnt put a damper on a fantastic weekend!!
