  2. yup, bad circulation makes it very difficult to ride in winter...for the hands too...
  3. Cold feet are very difficult to manage...wearing 2 pairs of socks makes NO difference and just makes your shoes tighter, impedes your circulation and makes your feet freeze. Booties help but ideally you want some nice warm merino wool socks or similar which keep your feet dry and toasty. Winter boots are also good but cumbersome and expensive..and if you do get them make sure they are not too tight. They are also waterproof and generally will make your feet sweat. Keeping your core nice and warm also helps and prevents blood leaving the extremities. Tin foil on the insoles to radiate heat inwards can help. There is no ultimate solution, you really have to experiment I lived in Italy for 10 years and rode in sub-freezing temps regularly, got chilblains on my feet a few times...
  4. avoid any softener, wash at max 30deg and use a liquid detergent, never powder
  5. yes, why not...as long as it it listed as a Toopre tool... but I did see some SRAM rainbow coloured Centreline discs which were probably clones but were being sold as SRAM
  6. they are identical , Select+ is only OEM and Ultimate can be bought aftermarket

  11. the Pie Run is now the 80km Canola Roller...but has some much nicer sections and avoids muddy areas and the crappy section through Riviersonderend
  12. weird...works for me and it is public... canola roller 122km 1680m.gpx
  13. 80km will follow the same route up to about the 60km mark and then split off and head towards Greyton...no tar whatsoever on the 80km, about 5km of tar for the long one
  14. this will probably be the longer route..unless the weather turns and we have to make some mods https://www.strava.com/routes/3228364343966695210
  15. definitely better value than your other 2 choices...
  16. there is a steep and fairly loose climb… I managed it on my Topstone Lefty which has a 10-50 cassette ( mullet) …and I was at my limit Worst case some riders may walk up since it’s a fairly short section Some of the descents are fairly rocky and loose but nothing scary… It is a spectacular route 😘
  17. yes, we renamed the Pie Run [since the name was confusing] and altered the 80km course to include some scenic sections with a bit more difficulty. we also added a stunning 130km route [ added onto the 80km] which includes soe hard clibs and technical sections with amazing views! some singletrack also incuded!
