depends where you ride...here in Greyton I ride gravel on the roads and then do some singletrack too...lots of fun. Some of the gravel routes are quite rough and the Lefty Oliver Ocho on my Topstone definitely works and is very welcome...

should work OK and putting 2,2 tires on the 27,5" wheels should give you a similar diameter to the 700c wheels with narrower tires your Momsen came with...
