  2. When I enquired about riding down to Arniston from Greyton I was told the tar roads there are narrow with no verges and bakkies drive at speed on the long straights...and most of the gravel roads are too sandy...but let's see if anyone has some other info...
  3. rub some bib cream in your helmet liner and also wear a light UV skull cap like the one from First Ascent or whatever...

  6. we have some AMAZING gravel riding here in Greyton, home of the Pie Run gravelgrind race in September...hundreds of km of rolling dirt roads and some technical gravel riding routes if desired

  10. the Decathlon Van Rysel one is really good, probably better than some of the much more expensive ones I have tried
  11. all legit but generally not a happy shopping experience...on 2 separate orders after I paid I received an email that the item was no longer in stock....took 2 weeks to get a refund...nowhere near as good or as well stocked as the Decathlon in EU
  12. best Garmin ever made in my opinion...but people sell them second hand on the classifieds here at prices as if they were made of Panda...

  15. Thank you all for the replies.... which Shimano derailleur will work with a GRX800 gravel lever and a 11-51 cassette without any aftermarket parts?
  16. thanks guys for all the help... so it may be worth trying to see if it works with the existing GRX800 derailleur and then take it from there...
  17. can I rather then get the Deore M5100 1x11 MTB derailleur which is only about R500? will it work with the GRX lever?
  18. thanks @splat .... I did think the GRX800 wide derailleur was supposed to work with bigger cassettes too but maybe I was wrong..
