  1. Results have been posted
  2. I think the event has lots of potential so really hope it gets a repeat and big sponsor in the future.
  3. I really enjoyed the ride (ok enjoy is maybe a strong word to use for those sandy bits). There was some challenges with the organisation, parking being one of them but with a new venue there are always bound to be some of those. For the guy whose bike got stolen.. sorry to hear hope it turns up somewhere.
  4. Entered ;-)
  5. Ok so maybe they did it that way so that the long route and shorter kiddies routes don't overlap as much this year around. That is one benefit
  6. From the map link noted above it looks the same as last year. But could be wrong
  7. Looking forward to a great event. We all signed up and ready
  8. Also looking for a 22km one
  9. Which means there is going to be a bottleneck at the end again, and the overlap of the long route with the kiddies route?
  10. Also would like to know about the "finish" line, is it the same as the 2017 route?
  11. Think that they were from the beginning transparent on the goal for this year that they are targeting Intermediary and beginner riders. Not sure what prompted them to drop the technical routes this year, but assume it was not an easy decision to make, but glad there is still a ride that can grow the sport and activity.
  12. Has anyone seen the route map?
  13. Going to be trying out Rouvy, but going to see how the virtual power approach work.
  14. So lots of people signed up for this? Or not that interested?
  15. Wondering actually if there is not an argument for the ebikes to be combined with the gearing system that Pinion is developing, or will that just be to close to the line for the haters to complain?
  16. Yeah, don't think we always express the appreciation for all the effort that is put in to keep the trails in such a good shape, but the weather and everything also makes this the perfect time, everything is green, the grass / shrubs / weeds are not yet tooo high, the surface is slightly moist and solid, with not to much mud.
  17. Rode Faircape and Hoogenkraal today, those trails felt in really good shape. Thanks to all involved
  18. Wondering how many new brake pads and drivechain will be installed in the coming weeks, it looked like a proper mudfest
  19. ...and they can keep less stock on hand, as you don't need to supply to a large range of store locations. For that price you could probably arrange for delivery within 8 hour, irrespective of the time of day
  20. Probably needs a new thread for items that can be bought online, seeing as that was not really a "deal" For example the bottle at Makro ... R699 999.00 (and no the decimal is not at the wrong spot)
  21. AND it comes with free delivery

  23. Did it two years ago, which was lots of fun, that area at the "quarry" did cause some nervousness with my riding partners
  24. Going back yesterday I realised the climb on the long route last year was technically not as bad, was probably just unfit that day and it felt worse than it actually were..
