    Lights

Any recommendations on Lights that work that is not very expensive. And Price if you have. Doing some night racing and maybe the Telkom Night ride. I got one of the cheap Giant lights and doesn't do much, trail is barely visable. Would like to see where I'm going.
  4. I think this guy is just talk, trying to scare everyone riding around the area. It is a public road. Also if he knocked 2 people over, I would think they would lay charges.
  5. Thule also have one, Cost about R500 or R600 the last time I saw. There is enough presure , not like your real preasure cleaners. Works great.
  6. Agree, using all these chips at different races. If they organize a race you at least expect to be timed and have your position. Not to go out and purchase additional timing chips for that. There are also only a few doing this, but to go and purchase a chip that you might only use for 1 race a year is stupid. And if you look at the chip and housing it comes in, where do you put this thing.
  7. *** en betaal is die wet van Trasvaal
  8. Thanks, just needed some info becaues summer is comming and last year the 50 Miler also had rain and was muddy in the first few km's.
  9. What techniques does one follow when racing in muddy conditions. I did the last Illovo Eston and all the mud just kept sticking to the tyres that you eventualy cant move forward anymore, you need to clear all the mud before you can get going again. Eventualy at certain spots I was carrying the bike as it was easier that cleaning the mud off all the time. The pro's still did the race alsmost as if it was dry if one looks at their finish times. Is it the type of tyres they use in the muddy conditions?
  10. At the Moratuwa race we help a guy that got a flat, Think the slime in his tube was old because the tube went and stuck together. When you try to inflate it just made a few bubbles and the rest stayd stuck together, gave him one of my tubes and he could at least continue his race. Love the slime in my tubes as I alos just remove the thorns and it sorts it self out. Had a problem only once with a snake bite in my tyre for hitting a rock very hard.
  11. Ah sweedy they didn't have George on the list' date=' will email a complaint [/quote'] George!!! Have any one seen George? MAkes me think of the TV advert for the Post Office.
  12. And what I've heard is that Look has got a much better after service that the others.
  13. My wife got the LOOK QUARTZ and loves them. I'll also be looking at these shortly. With the Eston race with all that mud she cliped in everytime without hassles, I needed to keep cleaning my cleats.
  14. Briliant, I just got Quotes back for a 4 day and 5 day Lesotho MTB tour. Looks brilliant. Just need to check when I'm doing this as i'm also looking at the Mashatu one in Botswana. Was the trip worth it?
  15. Why is the totall post staning on the once posted? Looks like they got stuch or reached their limit for the day.
  16. The chip is moulded into the number board. Number are allocated to all entries beforehand. When you go through the finish, you will see the scaners you ride through or someone scaning the number. Results goes immediately to a laptop. The results is usualy up by the next day. No need to purchace extra timing devices. I hate it when you enter a race and you have to purchace a extra chip for timing. Then they say if you don't have a chip you won't be timed. With a race I expect at least to be timed and know my possition in the race without purchasing additional chips ect. Races you need extra chips is Emperors Classic, Sun City and THe crater Cruise.
  17. Sounds like a lot of work in a race to keep stopping to adjust your seat before a technical downhill. My seat stays where it is and I just go for it. Seat only drops when I load them on the Thule to miss the other bikes Levers.
  18. I wish more events will use SStiming. Now one has to get timing chips with some races ect. Championchip, Raceteck, Mr price timing chip. Why must one have to go out and purchase all these chips to be timed. I would think if you enter a race they will have some proper timing and not force everyone to go and buy a chip of about R100 so you can get your results. That is why I like it when SStiming is doing the timing, and you have quick access to your results.
  19. www.pixonsite.co.za The photos might only be up later this week.
  20. I agree. Mbizi is great. And you can cycle on their premises. Lots of track to cover, last time after the Lionman did 26km their and did dot even cover everything.
  21. MTB Sabie classic Long downhill 64km/h.
  22. A garmin can move very fast when you where at a different location before and it picks up your current position. My last one was reading 1120km/h.
  23. It happens to Vodacom as well. Looks one must maar be stuck with Vodacom or MTN as if you go with Cell C you will see for yourself. Cell C just phoned again to give me a contranc and I gave them gears.
  24. Silverback Reno, Had mine for more than a year before I upgraded. Rode it hard (I just go for anything, won't stop or get a skrik until it is to late)and it lasted. Parts and maintenance cheap and easy. You get good value for money on Silverback. Gave to a friend and he is using it now.
  25. Me to, what goodie bag.
