  1. The only proper answers you will find on the Hub is to go see a Doctor ASAP...its as simple as that!
  2. If I can do it then almost anybody can do it but it happened over a very long stretch of time, 5 years to be exact. I was at Le Tour and I was on camera live. My dad saw me and got excited and sent me a pic from the tv while I was waiting for the riders. I saw the pic and first thought my dad got it wrong, that fat bloke cant be me. I looked, my heart sank as I realised it was me. My day went from being fully excited to depression in 5sec flat and actually just wanted to fly home. That night in the hotel I looked in the mirror and hated what I had became and said there and then that is it I am going on a diet. Diet worked but too quickly and I gained more once I stopped. I soon understood its not a diet its a lifestyle change. With cutting out most bad things but still eating good stuff just smaller amounts I have been constantly winning the battle. 2011 I was on my heaviest at 115kg, today I am sitting on 91,7kg so still heavy but better. I just cant wait to get in the 80's which is around the corner. I cycle a lot but eating right and smaller portions have a lot to do with shedding. Even with doing around 200-300km a week of cycling I still have to check portion size otherwise I don't loose and just hover at the same weight So ladies and gents, don't be despondent if you taking long to loose those kilos. check what you eating, how big your portions are and most importantly don't expect miracles. It took your body a long time too get too that size and it will take a long time to get back to your goal weight. I see someone wrote about my fitness Pal. Great app and helps me ALOT! Keep at it folks
  3. I have been to many GTours over the years and I will keep saying it. The Giro is by far the best Grand Tour. The TDF just got the timing right where to stick it into the race calendar. The TDF falls right in the middle of the European holiday, actually most of the Worlds holidays and hence has a huge following on the road but personally the Giro has everything a true cycling supporter / follower enjoys in a race. You never want to miss a stage because you not sure who will take the jersey the following day and its exciting till the end. The Tour is more "I will mark you with 2km till go and then I will make my move...if my DS allows it. See you tomorrow and we do it all over again ok!" Who has not enjoyed the scenery more than the racing on some stages of the TDF? It was another great Tour and I had wished someone other than the shark would win but not. Never liked him much but was impressed with the way he hugged Chavez parents when they congratulated Nibali. Like the way Chavez calls it like it is. He had no legs, no other excuse
  4. Simple reason. Canyon ONLY deal with distribution themselves. You wont find a LBS anywhere in the world selling their brand. That way they sell a really good brand at a really good price. They were one of the first companies to do it this way,now you see other manufacturer concept stores popping up all over the place but still cant come close to their prices
  5. I did lots of research on this already. There still are delays on shipping/building, some people still waiting for bikes from November. Canyon does not take your order and start building your bike, they work on batches so for instance they will build lets say 500 small and have it ready by May then start building another batch and if your lucky your bike will be in that next batch. Canyon don't have in stock its made to order, problem is thousands of other people have also ordered and then start the back logs. So you got to ask yourself how long will a replacement frame take if there is a problem with the one you get. Next is the VAT and customs you going to pay getting it here. Hopefully things will get better with Canyon now that they in bigger better premises but still think it will take time before they get their ducks in a row. As for sizing, you will have to go get all your measurements written down by a proper shop who does fitments. When you do your order online with Canyon they will require them for a perfect fit.
  6. Jennie and Robyn are on a different level than last year, both taking wins over the last few months. The woman's race will be the race to watch. Bulls unless something dramatic happens Tech or Crash will be too far ahead by end of Thursday's stage
  7. Anybody with a child can relate to this. I am so sad and pissed off!!!
  8. I have just the rack for you and generally most boot/hatch racks allow you to open the rear. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/169337-odds-ends/
  9. Who is actually leading this comp? Seems that road this wagon is on has many potholes.
  10. Going the Canyon way, makes sence to keep pricing down by cutting out the middleman
  11. easiest and quickest solution if it takes too long to get a replacement is go to a engineering company and get them to make it for you. They usually do a run of 2 or 3 to make it viable and charge about R200-300 per hanger.
  12. Legit indeed, but I do know what you are all saying. I see it every day as my eyes are wide open. A lady who bought a bike of gumtree is selling it on the hub saying how she put new wheels that cost her a lot of money on the mtb but I saw the bike advertised by someone else before she bought it and its the exact same wheelset so ja unfortunately you also get those types too who will say anything to sell bikes and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth as it makes the 2nd hand market get a bad rap
  13. Hi all, I am one of those buy and sell guys. Some of you know me, some of you don't but I have been in the cycling industry for a while now(call it 20+ years). Its not as simple as buying and putting it up for more money/profit. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes. Calls, emails, driving out to collect the bike, servicing, replacing worn parts, cables, bearings, clusters, blades, chains, sending forks out for service, delivering bikes to clients or just driving to show customers a bike who cant leave the office. So what started out as good profit at the end of the day ends in a much smaller profit but I know the client is happy and that makes me even happier. Hey if it was easy money everyone would be doing it but I try keep my prices low and that's what I am known for is quality bikes at affordable prices.
