3. Despite it being a bitterly cold afternoon a large number of riders turned up to pay their respects to a genuine nice guy. steve2007-08-07 15:01:21
4. Motorsport South Africa will not issue a licence unless you are able to PROVE you have medical cover specifically for motor racing. They also have arranged cover which most licence holders opt to take out. As an MSA accredited photographer I've made sure I'm covered on a race track. Last year I was in ICU for 3 weeks and I'll rather not pay my bond than go without medical cover.
5. I also want to know!!

10. I followed the event as part of the media corps in 2006 and lived in the race village ............... it is a once in a lifetime advenure, can you put a price on that?
11. Hey! this should be part of the drifter series ................ oops, sorry forgot, this was a real mtb race so might be a bit too technical and mtb'ish for them.
12. They announced that results will be posted on www.totalindex.co.za during the week ......... there's a link to it from the website and they also had them on a notice board at the finish steve2007-07-15 09:07:45
13. I don't know what anyone else thought, but I thought it was a brilliant event. The route was nice, the venue was great and it was well organised ........ one of the best mtb events I've experienced.
14. We're on page three of this thread and so far there's nothing sensible ........... one of the reasons why the Hub is dying. I really can't be bothered to wade through all the crap to read something sensible

WARNING

Funny thing is that they didn't seem interested in the bike at all - not even the tubby bag. All they wanted was money and cell phone

WARNING

If any MTBers in the Edenvale area ride underneath the powerlines between Sebenza and Greenstone Shopping centre be very careful of bandits/squaters/vagrants/bastards/thieves in the middle near the stream.

Today I was accosted by 3 of them, one armed with a knife made from a hacksaw blade, they asked for money, cell phone etc, but I had neither, not even my camelbak .............. one was very jumpy and threatened to BITE me for not having anything he wanted!!!!

They did search me ...... that's when the one threatened to bite me
17. pictures are terrible .......... waste of bandwidth
18. Hendrik - I do belong to a club, but ............... well its a sort of short long story, but I said "nah, I don't need a license." Last year I belonged to a different club, paid for a license and never got it. Jules - I believe if CSA sanction a race standards will improve, regulations/guidelines etc will be adhered to and everything will improve. I do think one should be able to buy a license at Cycle Lab or wherever one does a number collection or maybe even on line. The least we as cyclist can do is buy a license and then, and only then, do we have a right to crticize CSA or any other body like Central Gauteng.
19. Yesterday at Cycle Lab I entered the MTB race at Muldersdrift and had to provide proof of club membership license etc - they even had checked on a computer. I didn't have proof and wasn't on the computer (not even for last year when I paid for a license!!) so I had to fork out R30.00 for a temporary. It is the first time I've ever had this and I think its about time CSA/Central Gauteng did this. Well done!!!
20. ........ any tube deformed is a tube weakened, but it all depends on what loads it will be subjected to. If it was my frame I would leave it as is and cary on riding
21. Muldersdrift in Mpumalanga ....... huh??
22. I once wrote to 702 telling them their standard of reporting was atrocious and this was the response .......... Hi Steve, could you please be more specific and let me know which bulletin you are referring to. I need to look into it.
