  1. If there's a 2014 nomad size L in aqua in stock, I'll take off your hands, please and thank you! [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. For corrugated gravel roads. Any 29er hard tail will do Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. High tower for sure if I didn't already have an enduro. It would be a difficult choice between the tallboy or 5010 for me.
  4. Seriously wouldn't mind swapping this bike for my enduro 29er. A tranny scout would also be a welcome addition.
  5. Ardent race unfortunately only come in 120 tpi exo casings, not DDs. Picking mine up tomorrow, will be running similar combo - DHF 2.5 WT EXO on front and Ardent race 2.35 at the rear. Should make longer ride more bearable again.
  6. It says standard build. There is a "S" build ( = standard build) option on all models, in the R76k region. You won't be getting a R120k bike.
  7. If the wheels will go on a trance, flow mk3 for sure. Although I don't think the arch mk3s are in any way a bad choice, but 2.6" rubbers will just work better on the wider rims. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Agreed, looking at Intense, which basically is the same bikes, have at least decent cable routing. SC's just plain nasty.
  9. Let's hope it's Zim dollars, or something equally ***.
  10. Seems SC is taking a new kind of piss out of bike prices. Nomad CC | XX1 Reserve | RockShox Super Deluxe RCT | RockShox Lyric RCT3 170 | $13,349 Seems SC is taking a new kind of piss out of bike prices. edit: thinks this is Canadian Dollars. Site quotes USD10.2k
  11. I've been wanting to get a topic started on strength training and cycling for a while now - to see what others do and hear what works for them. And I think it's a personal matter mostly, but rest those legs after leg day. Some people do cardio work in the am, and then strength in the afternoon, others vice versa. Depends on the individual I suppose.
  12. Recovery is a bitch that can negatively affect your riding. If you eat well you will recover quicker, but only leg workouts will be relevant to cycling. I've found that doing high intensity/low volume leg workouts on a Monday, and then High volume/low intensity on a Thursday works best for me. My legs are fine by Saturday when I do longer rides. Weekday rides, I struggle a bit. Monday: squats sets of 10, 8, 6, 3, max. - each set heavier & 3 x 10 D/L (lower weight) Thursday: 1 x 20 squats & D/L sets of 10, 8, 6, 3, max. - each set heavier. I do it this way around as D/L is a taxing exercise, but not so bad on my legs ito recovery. LOL, yes if only it was that easy to bulk up. You need to eat a lot of food ("clean calories"), to the point of hating it in order to see actual results.

  15. They said I could be anything, so I became a bridge.
  16. How's the 2.4 Ardent as a rear? Looking for something with less rolling resistance. DHF2s are just too much, and the soft compound is wearing off quite fast. Even considering Ardent Race 2.35s.
  17. Agreed, I don't get why the endurbros need to wear pajama shirts with no pockets. I have a camelbak lobo that I only wear on long hot summer rides. The rest of the time my phone, keys, CO2 bombs and multitool goes into various pockets of my "roadie shirt" and baggies
  18. But, it's all too easy to be conned into so-called performance upgrades.
  19. Weight is irrelevant if you can afford to lose 5-10 kg of fat.
  20. No gravity is goal, but you need to go up before you can go down. And I'm a fairly strong climber, so why not enjoy both.
  21. Lol, we should probably maintain civility here.
  22. I'm starting to think it's actually a lot slower. 26-27min up the mountain vs 22 mins with lighter/less rolling resistance rubbers. My legs are also not too happy to do 50-60 km rides anymore.
  23. Those Slaughters grip pretty well when new, but once they slightly worn off, braking traction disappeared, especially the last few dry and dusty months of summer. Switched to a DHF2 WT at the back, and it's like dropping an anchor.
