Is the part about the road being sorted for this coming weekend confirmed?

I joined this last year - rode straight into a horrendous South Easter through Muizenberg which was harrowing, lekka vibe and enjoyed smashing a beer at 6 in the morning when we finished at Forries!

Thanks Bud, sounds like a similar arrangement to what they had at Wines2Whales a couple of years ago.

Any idea if there will be a charging station available at all - I see there was some talk last year earlier in the year but any more information or we just going to Powerbank route?

My Garmin Forerunner 35 has completely bombed out - screen is just showing a couple of scrambled lines on the screen and tried charging up and hard reset... No luck. Was bought from Sportsman's Warehouse in January - what would be best, take it back back to the store or send straight back to Garmin with the receipt?

Had a friend who did this and was raving about it - thoroughly enjoyed the vibe!

I was slightly undertained going in this year, had a migraine on Saturday afternoon so wasn't 100% either. Wow, riding through St. James, Kalk Bay and round to Simonstown again reminded me what a special event this is - absolute pearler of a day and always so much gees!! Was pretty blown up by the top of Suiker and had to nurse myself to the finish for a 03:15 which is at least an improvement on my PB. Really sad to hear about the three people who passed away. RIP.

I chatted to a mate around who is working at the Expo at around 18:00 yesterday and they said it was VEEEEEERY QUIET compared to Thursday last year. I guess the SMS warning people to stay away worked - it did have a slighty panicked tone when they said "Please avoid coming to the Expo today..." Some jitters from the organizers perhaps - I can imagine there is plenty of pressure this year to deliver.

Question, what is the Elevation Gain of the course over the 4.4km? And how quickly are the Pro's expected to smash out a lap?

How vibey is the second lap? Worth the extra moolah? Also got an invite for the first time and considering it...
