  1. This morning, Pretoria, Lynnwood Road near Gen L Botha, some idiot rock truck lost a few pebbles. Almost killed myself. But saw that they started cleaning it up round 11 today
  2. Started watching COPS. Left speechless.
  3. The SS is locked to paths and roads. The MTB can go where I must. To jump the curb with a road bike might just end in disaster.Later on I will get a SS MTB. The roads and road users in SA is not for cycling anymore.
  4. Have to sell my SS. Not being used as it should be used. Will be sad cause I have started loving the bike. But times sucks big time.
  5. Two and a half men laid to rest at last!
  6. I am not as strong as I thought...
  7. Few things are getting to me. Pedestrians. One fellow walking with a few buckets walking in the middle of the path refusing to even budge for other pedestrians. As I passed this MFSOB he walked into my path. So I took action. I knocked one of his buckets out of his hands and just carried on. I heard applause and when I looked ahead a few ladies were elated by my action. I almost broke my pinky, but it can grow back into position. One lady said something of the man being very rude. And I have to agree. But the past few weeks I have seen an increase of pedestrians that will not try to share the pathways. Either shared or the one bike path that I get on my commute. Then... Was almost taken out by a fat ass in a Colt bakkie. He decided while I was crossing that he can take off. I crossed the line on a green and the light turned orange while I was crossing and this twat decided to take off. Me in his way. So I stopped and asked him what he was thinking. Light still red for him, then got onto the sidewalk. Just wish I had my GoPro there. For as far as I know you have to wait for cross traffic to clear infront of you. Then you can start driving. And I felt very kaak. Helped a dude that threw his gears. Front jockey, only the right hand plate left. Rear jockey is there, but packed with gunk. Helped him to get the chain back onto the sprocket. and got his front gear on the middle chain ring. Is was a humbling situation for me. There I am, thinking of how to replace my chain this weekend, and this guy does not even have a proper setup to commute with. So was just a wake up call again. I am so privileged to have spent time watching what my uncle and cousin did while working on my bikes. So most of the things I can do. I have access to a wonderful community based website with a wealth of knowledge. I have access to youtube if I struggle with something. And after years of investing in tools I have most tools that I need to fix my bikes. So I feel sorry for the guy cycling without the basic know how on how to get the gears working again. What is needed to get the gears to go up and down. And I might struggle to get the oil off my hands, but in the 5 minutes I helped the guy telling him what to do next time, was worth it. Now I know that one more guy at least can help himself a little bit more.
  8. Ag nee sies man! That is just so... Words that I want to use will get me banned.
  9. Shall someone in SA dare: http://www.unilad.co.uk/video/group-teens-stop-idiot-drivers-using-pavement/
  10. Had a wanker working for Putco, try to push me off a side walk. I am checking my GoPro footage now to lay a complaint against the freaken ass hole. See it is Putco 6181. On this pick he did not stop yet. He did stop on top of the side walk.
  11. I need soft contact lenses for my commute. Took a turn with the wind blowing sideways, and my lens decided it is time to leave my eye. Guess I looked a pretty foolish pick on all fours, looking for my lens. And I found it. Just feeling nasty to have to rinse the lens with water an pop it back in. Without my left eye, i can see a bit, but the left eye comes in at -5.75 so can't see a lot without my lens...
  12. I almost pulled the nudist way today. About 2 km from my house, I rode past a bloke in uniform... A little light went on. And the thought struck... Did I pack my shirt, undies and socks. So I pulled a legal U-Turn and cycled home. But when I got back on the road (about 20 minutes later than the time I try to leave) it was as if all hell broke loose. Traffic was a nightmare. People on their phones, no use of that indicator installed on most cars, no regard for the laws. And 0 respect for other road users. And what is a red traffic light meant for? Going over as fast as you can? Next time I will rather take the motorbike or call in late for the day.
  13. And I complain when it hits -2... Good luck there. I hear the winter is harsh this year...
  14. This afternoon was fun. Seems the one path I ride some times were taken out by a flood today. So when I got there I was met with the best mud bath I had this year. I was smiling all the way while the rear wheel were fighting for a little bit of grip to carry me out of the mud bath. Think the cars though I were nuts. Was laughing with joy
  15. Took the motorbike to work this morning. Had an interview I had to attend. But fudge, going to cycle to work even if I have to swim out the estate. I was really scared to be on the roads. People are flippen nuts!
  16. Think it might be Paleo, but not suited for LCHF Real Food Lists
  17. It is loaded with carbs. Dates as well - Very high in sugar and carbs, but sound lekker....
  18. I tried it once, and made a mess of it. Will try it again soon. Very great meal if you are in a hurry.
  19. Yeah, know. Was not my choice. The fiancee decided on dinner last night. So had to shut up and eat...
  20. Worst day on LCHF today. Been feeling light headed from about 10H00 Had a BPC this morning, biltong (50g) for a snack, boerewors (about 150g) with a salad (1 cup) Going to eat my Macadamia nuts now (50g). Had one bottle of water on my commute, and just completed the 2nd bottle water (with a little pink salt added), going on my 3rd. Been on the LCHF style for about 15 days now if I am not wrong. Might be more. Can't remember.
  21. I need a new backpack. After about a year of abuse on my Knog backpack on of the zippers broke. Can still open the bag, but I started to notice that the water proof plastic lining on the bag is starting to break. But I got great service from the bag, so I am rather happy with the quality of the bag, but the hunt is on for the perfect new bag now. So thanks for posting the bags that are on sale here...
  22. Took the following last night. Cream, bit of milk, cocoa powder, and coconut oil and a bit of xylitol. Blended and chucked into a glass.
  23. So glad I had to take the motorbike to work. Got caught about 4 km from work in a lekker rain session. But nothing close to the rain we just had for the past 40 minutes or so.
  24. Had to skip a USN product this morning. Had a very bad nights sleep, so feeling super weak. Took the label. 22g of Carbs per serving. Left it on the fridge and took two bottles of water. So watch what you drink. Rather take water and stay in the right zone. Must admit, I am so craving the Vooma packet on my table right now....
