  1. I have cycled there a few years ago even had an event there for a church to fund a project. But that was like 10 years ago, so lots can change. We had to stop at one stage for a herd of Wildebeest to clear the road and an majestic kudu watched us crazy things passing them. And going into the grass was a no no due to the protective nature of us and the warden at the time. So it is sorry to hear that the event was a letdown. It was a stunning place to take the MTB, a few like minded friends and a few beers and a piece of chicken or cow to eat after the ride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  2. Problem with that dirt road is that no one does the critical care that it needs.Farmers just do not care and neither does the Government. Always been a problem. With all the rains we had the roads can be super bad, and thought it would be the case for the event. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  3. Might be the Endomondo challenge https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/165328-bike-hub-commuters-challenge-2017/?fromsearch=1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  4. What the Dr told me... on Antibiotics, any fewer or pain near the lungs, and the back stay off the bike and in the bed. Sniffles and cough light rides (recovery) or IDT. Did a recovery 15 min beginner class Monday, And today a 8 x 20 40 (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Pvg9c0-iYgg) class. Would have tried to do the full class, but cramped. Listen to your body. If you struggle up stairs, or while walking take a day off. I knew that I could push a bit harder today when I sprinted up the stairs at Centurion Eye Clinic and that after walking 5 km's between calls at clients. So take it slow. It is the best thing you can do even though you think it is not Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  5. Did mine past 30 as well. If you can get a class at the BMW rider academy it helps a lot. You know what to do, and where to do what. Just relax on the day, and make sure you understand what you need to do, just make sure you KNOW WHAT to do... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  6. Wont surprise me if last years "Argus" was the last one without protest action. Hate what this country has become. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  7. Have you tried Kefir yet? There might be something wrong with your gut bacteria, and a more natural remedy might work better than the probiotic pills. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  8. that sucks balls! As usual I received mails that the co-owner scheduled work for me, without regard to the Dr's note. But there is no way I am fit for work. Running one bad ass fever. Last night shivered in bed for 20 minutes. Wife wanted to take me to hospital. Even my appetite has gone missing somewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  9. Just came from the Dr. booked off for the rest of the week with flu. Bed rest and lots of clear liquids. And R790 of meds later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  10. Been hit by the flu on Wed. Still feeling like a truck ran over me. Resting HR is high, NAFI like you wont believe and constant sinus headache. Will check tomorrow how I feel, hate going to the Dr for flu. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  11. Must say I am sorry for those who paid a crap load of money for nothing. One of the reasons I no longer want to partake in mass events like the 94.7, Argus and Sun City races. Another thing with protests, you showed that it pays to protest and that you get your way with your destructive ways. You are opening yourself a can of worms. Sorry for everyone not being able to do the ride today Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  12. Got me one of heavily overpriced iWatches. Use if for the fitness tracking features, and got it for the Strava and Endomondo apps support. One + is the HR data, knew I was screwed before I was hit with the flu Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  13. I attended a church service a few years ago. and they said the following: You can leave all the money in the world behind for people, but they will soon forget you, but the day you leave behind a legacy like Barry did, that money will never be able to buy
  14. Don't go gentle into that good night! Good luck to the family and Rest Sir Barry
  15. Had another bad night of sleep, and wondered how TW was doing while working through events that took place the last few weeks. Thinking of you Mr TW. May you pull through this battle victorious Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  16. Watching Highway thru hell on Netflix. I thought that working in Canada was an option, but that is no longer the case if I see the carnage on one stretch of road. Also started with the OA. The first episode was okayish, but the second one lost me and my wife along the way.
  17. True as well. Sort of Coffee related but watched a program on Red Bull TV on the Barista world champs. Worth the watch. Just got bored and irritated as the true meaning of barista (and the days when the great awakening of me and my love for coffee happened) was lost and became more about a show of making coffee and treats and not the core reason for being a barista... COFFEE! When I was the local barista, it was all about coffee and making the best darn coffee in town. Now it is more about art in a cup than about the coffee. I don't care about the heart shape on my cup, of the leave or even the ghost busters logo you created. It all comes down to one thing. The Coffee. And Sir you are correct, I was wrong in my thinking, but doing a barista course will help a lot. Just to get the initial exposure and to see what is out there. Just don't fall for the get a Nespresso gang of people. If you do high volume work get a high volume system. It sucks as a client to have to wait 30 minutes for a cup of espresso because you have an one cup a time system and 150 covers to run.
  18. Or get a barista to work for her... But making the perfect cup of coffee makes one feel complete. And not all coffee machines are equal. It all depends on what you want to have. A press button do it all or a more intense barista needs to be awake style machine, Both have their plus sides and both have negatives as well. Just make sure that the person you employ as your barista knows how to maintain your machine as some just do it for the money and not the passion of coffee. Visit Malas in Pretoria west and go look at their coffee machine. It is at the pinnacle of abuse and neglect (the "barista" does not even clean the steam wand or blow it out after steaming the milk.
  19. And here I thought some adds changed overnight. Now my eyes are open. Thanks for raising awareness on this.
  20. And make sure the bag seals. Used an old Spar bag with a hole in it. Helped to keep all the juicy bits outside of the bag
  21. Wait till you open your MacBook at the office and find it dripping with sauce... The shirt I could wash at the office. Was a bit chilly, but got used to after a while.
  22. Wife is on leave from the 16th. So will take the bike out then. This attempt to save the polar bears has gone far enough. This hubby bear of hers got real fat in the past year since we started using one car...
  23. close to the office, it is not the glass bottles... It is the glass from broken windows that litters the ground. The office is about 800 meters from a smash and grab hotspot. So that direction became a direction that's never used anymore...
  24. Indeed. I only had 4 cups today Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  25. Think the last 4 eps of Westworld I fell asleep in. So will have to re watch the last 4 eps again... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
