  1. Its 9 in the morning in Jozi and its exacly ZERO degrees!!!
  2. The Pixies - Where is my mind.
  3. I don?t like to complain, but you hear regular horror stories of cyclist being attacked by raging taxi drivers or even run over by cars. If you behave badly; and this morning I feel they acted like arrogant schmucks then you must be able to own up and take the responsibility of being singled out. If I do not obey the traffic rules and a Metro Cop gives me a ticket then I take the responsibility and pay the fine? so should everyone else disregarding the rules of the road. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Come on ? what these guys did was not fair, now their actions are being justified and defended? I am a cyclist myself and am always aware of what is happening around me, I always slow down when I see roadies and make sure that they are safe as well. But it does not denote that they can disregard others and do whatever they want. thehermanator2009-06-25 00:55:01
  4. Probably not, or they are so arrogant they are too busy planning how they can piss others off when they go riding tomorrow.
  5. Do not complain if you get sworn at, hooted at, or run over by a taxi or car for that matter when you do not obey the rules of the road. This morning at 5.45, two cyclists were riding next to each other on Victoria Road near Joburg Gen hospital, I had to change lanes to avoid them. And then they turned into Oxford Road going trough a red traffic light. Come on guys, I am always aware of roadies, but hey your do not own the road and some of you are not playing this game fairly. thehermanator2009-06-24 23:45:44
  6. Same problem, and I was under the impression it was me.....
  7. Even better, lets get as many people together as possilble; put them on bicycles and shoot them with air rifles. Lets see if that will be funny. I am happy the police reacted so quickly.
  8. Well said Warren
  9. Thanks thats a good price, do you know if the do any other supliments too? Whey Protein etc.... and are they as cheap?
  10. Then I rather see all the signs removed please and let chaos reign - I love chaos. But if there are clear indications saying that no entry on the single track from this side - such as the one at the river then surely its there for a reason!!!!!!!!!! But what the hell I don't give a damn either.
  11. Thank you for the relevant information
  12. My ride at Northern Farms yesterday made me realise that so many people were riding the wrong way on the single tracks, this did not happen only once but a few times. I realised I can not be angry at those who have done so, because the tracks were not signposted properly for people to know that they are going the wrong way. Who can be contacted or how can we go about marking those track better? so that we all go in the right direction and not have to ride into the bushes and damage our oh so very expensive tyres and gears?
  13. Good guessing
  14. I almost P!ssed my pants thanks. As long as we won't have legal problems naming shops giving us bad service then I am all for it.
  15. I hear only good things about them, they will surely get my business then next time - thanks.
  16. None taken and yes its my take on it - but I still stick to my sotry anyway ITS FRIDAY AND I AM GOING RIDING TOMORROW!!!!!!! So who cares
  17. The problem first of all was an absolute lack of interest in how I would have liked my bike to be setup. I needed to have my back shock re-adjusted to my current weight and I thought while they are servicing my bike, why not do it by the ?experts? well they guessed how it was done and did not follow any technical guidelines to do so. When I fetched my bike after the service, I asked if there was any major ware and tare or other problems ? Oh my word, it was like asking a brick wall ? the blank stare I got from the technician gave me the impression that the lights were on but Eskom was supplying not enough voltage to sustain it. I need to know these things, since I am competing in a lot of events and must have my bicycle setup 100%. I tried to elaborate on some technical data about the bicycle it self and no one could give me any information. What I know of my bicycle I had to gather from the internet myself and other Hubbers. Am I wrong to expect that if you sell these things surely you should know more than, it has two wheels and a handlebar? Surely if you service your car its not just a matter of changing the oil and filters?
  18. Maybe I am a coward for not naming any names here, but having my bicycle serviced yesterday at one of the largest cycling retailers in Johannesburg yesterday and the absolute lack of interest or knowledge of what is really going on out in the field was a absolute shocker. To these guys it?s all about making money, selling stock and turnover. If the manager of this establishment ? I guess has NEVER even been on a bicycle his entire life, then you have to wonder if it is a good idea to even deal with people like this? Don?t get me wrong they have the best range of stock ? but unfortunately that?s where it ends.
  19. Here is my pennies worth . For me it all depends on what type of diet your on. If like me you are on a low carb eating plan for the most of the week, then I do tend to carbo load a day before. Simple carbs such as fruit, pasta's, whole wheat bread or even a slice of pizza. During my race or even a hard training ride I will drink a carbo loading drink. Afterwards I will also eat food with a simple carbo content, but only one meal. But I think its best to experiment and see what the best way is that works for you to carbo load (or not). I must say - that am looking forward to carbo load - then I have a good excuse to eat all the no-no's too
  20. They did attached and associated with your race number - I don't know what happened as you said weird....
  21. We did yes - and they insisted that he finished so someone out there did not finish I have the full list of peole and their times, so assume its one of the guys who did not "finish" the race on this list.
  22. He never finished.... we cut the chip off from his bike and gave it to the marshal - by then he was already registered as finished.
  23. No, the sweeper vehicle found him still on the trail, he never made it to the finish
  24. Yesterday at Babba's lodge a mate of mine bonked and did not finish his race, according to the time keepers he finished the race in 2 hours - a respectable time I might add - so I am confused Does this mean that someone who actually finished the race was never registered to finish? And how reliable is the timekeeping then if this happened.
  25. Falling of my bicycle again and ending up in ICU
