  1. Jens Voight, 40 yrs old and still able to remain at the top.
  2. Bennies bend did not get the better of me, unlike last year. There was the one section where you could either choose to go down and up the embankment or go round, i skrikked one poor kid when i came flying up the embankment and nearly knocked him over. Dont know which hurts more today my rear end or my shoulders from trying to shoulder charge some of those trees in the twisty bits.
  3. Thats a beauty.
  4. Nice one, when i remind you that there's a prize for the fastest over 90kg you take off
  5. He was standing next to me when we started and i was going to ask him if he forgot his shoes. There was also a guy in TCS kit who was on some contraption with racing bars and a bike carrier.
  6. Enjoyed it, i found the lap distance was ideal and the route did not allow me to get bored as i constantly had to concentrate but suffered no crashes Thanks to the guys from 32G and Fit for the energy drinks, the organizers and those assisting, medics, lap counters and Wendell for all the hard work and making it a success. Dec 1/2 marked down for next year.
  7. .
  8. Many years back we had an incident where a police car was double parked and a metro cop was writing out a ticket, the police arrested the metro cop for obstructing them in their duty
  9. Piet haat sy vrou se kat. Hy vat di kat en ry so 2km ver en smyt hom uit. Toe hy by di huis kom wag di kat vi hom. Hy laai weer di kat en ry n moerse ent links, dan regs, dan 'n ent terug, dan weer links en regs vir km's & gooi di kat weer uit. Na n ruk bel hy sy vrou & vra of di kat by di huisis. Ja, se sy hoekom? Hy antw 'Gee di foon vi di d*&^se kat. Ek het in my moer in verdwaal!
  10. This is true
  11. How they gonna police this. Prizes for the fastest lap of a rider over 90kg.
  12. Guilty
  13. If you going to be doing night riding then lights is something i wont scrimp on, bike and helmet light preferable. 1st 24hr i did i used PnP lights and had to resort to using a white stick to feel my way round the course. Choose your camp site carefully, too close to the start can be noisy if you want to sleep but you also don't want to be too far away either. One 24hr i was part of a team and we had a camp manager who ensured coffee was hot, lights were charged, bottles filled and riders were woken up for their shifts.
  14. New or 2nd hand, if you buy wisely 2nd hand you can get very good bargains. Are you looking at 29 or 26, dual suspension or hardtail, this will depend on the type of riding you want to do. Brands being specked very similar it could even boil down to preference by color.
  15. So its to perform the same function as a hybrid bike but with more bling.
  16. That bike will take a serious pounding off road.
  17. Why Garmin-Cervélo riders will be shifting and braking on Japanese parts for the 2012 season instead of the SRAM they rode this season. Shimano, however, is not a new sponsor. Cervélo, the bike manufacturer, is purchasing Shimano groups for the team after repeated requests for Shimano from team members
  18. ElRidge is 5.30am SATURDAY
  19. Sorry Been a while since iv'e been there, Wendell's really done a good job.
  20. Oi, i still have plenty of popcorn and coke
  21. Not sure how much of the green route is included in the 24hr but we did a few laps yesterday, plenty of single track and forest section.
  22. Hence the name 24hr.
